jcp, I did say "football" grounds. The designation only applies to stadiums whilst a football match is taking place.
This means that watching rugby at the Millenium Stadium, you can drink in the stands, but not when football is being played.
Something to do with football fans being drunken yobs and rugby fans being upstanding gentleman.

I can confirm - after speaking to the Chairman last night at the City Schools Game - he has his scarf back.

More importantly Mr croc, will you be handing yourself in at the police station in castle street to confess to your heinous crime?

Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol) Act 1985It is an offence to possess alcohol whilst trying to enter a designated sports ground, possess alcohol inside a designated sports ground in view of the pitch and drink in view of the pitch.Designated sports grounds includes all football grounds (Lewes and Hampton and Richmond included!) Yeah, but ultimately it's bollox as it's not rigorously or universally policed. And that includes Executive boxes, which are not exactly inaccessible to the public either, in every case.

That wasn't my package left in County Buildings the other day btw ;D Although when I did phone them up to get a form sent out to me for a friend they were quite hysterical when I said I was calling on behalf of a "P. Ó Néill"
