Apparently they've sold 650 tickets so expect fun & games? Maybe even a 2k+ crowd??? If we don't get embarassed v.Thurrock & Maidenhead? Though 1500 more likely. Am sadly away myself for it. But will take a score-draw now. Or on NYD. Can't see us winning either.

Bar yesterday, please show me a reason to be so? Our H.form is not inspiring and Away, currently rather less so.

According to Dave Boddy on the City website, Newport have been given section D of the 'Main' stand ( sold on an all ticket basis) and the dressing room end terrace as pay on the day. If so how can the club inform the Worcester News they have already sold 650 tickets to Newport fans when the capacity of section D is only around 250?

Perhaps it's just an estimate, but for once it would make sense if the club were to sell them tickets in advance. As in that way they'd guarantee themselves valuable income!
Guessing 750 is the approximate total capacity of the Canal End/Section D and minimal terracing in front of it.....
Though will happily stand corrected.

Negative temperatures at midday. Im not a weather expert but that sounds a bit extreme. And predicting weather this far in advance cant be particularly accurate.

Today's WN says that it was Hampson that announced the sales and Boddy says that it is not the case.

Apparently they have so far sold NO tickets for the game. A big difference between none and 650!

And some sense at last, the kick-off has been brought forward to 1230 hours. Or so it was anounced by the Captain on Saturday last.

anyone bothering to go should watch out for IDIFF trying to sneak in for free. Newport is his team which just about sums him and them up.

Bringing the kick-off time forward by over 2 hours when there is a chance that the ground could still be frozen seems a strange descision?

Again the home fans are to be incovenienced, having to walk around the obstacle course to reach the Brookside. Will they ever get right? Here are the facts for what they're worth. Newport have advised us that there could be up to 1000 fans traveling to the game so, with only getting 238 on the canal terraces and 250 in D stand, it's a no brainer. If we can get 965 on the changing room terraces and another 250 in the stands, what would you do to make the biggest financial gain for the club? Also, just so you are all in the picture, the Newport fans with stand tickets will be in A stand, which will be renamed D stand for the day, so all of the Newport supporters will be at the same end of the ground. All of this is being done on advice on Health & Safety grounds from the County Council, the Police and the Safety Officer from Birmingham City FC who will be in charge of all Health & Safety on the day, and as the buck stops with me at board level I took the advice given. Just for reference, I don't believe everything I read in the W/N.

Why, if A becomes D for the day, do Newport fans with tickets have to enter via the Canal turnstiles whilst the rest of the Newport fans enter to the left of the main gate? Why change A to D in the first place and will D become A or will we see DoubleD at St Georges on Boxing day?

I got the turnstile information from the original news item issued on the 12/12 by Dave Boddy on the Worcester City website, nothing to do with Steve Carley or the Worcester News. As the news item on the City website has since been deleted and replaced by one dated 15/12 (today), therefore I presume Dave Boddy was as confused as myself. It is obvious there has been a cock up hence all the pratting about renaming sections of the stand. I can only conclude members of the board giving conflicting and misleading information, whilst attempting to blame other people, on the simple subject of arrangements for a football match is a symptom of the bigger malaise at St Georges Lane.

If issuing information on arrangements, superceeding them without acknowledgement and sending the visiting fans tickets before seeking advice isn't a cock up then what is?

And only thirty years ago ( it seems like yesterday) over 11,000 people got in the ground for the visit of Newport County, without the slightest bit of bother - but those were the days before health & safety.
