The way City perform, we'd probably stand more chance against someone half decent!
A good win today.

First game for over two years today and I was thoroughly impressed with the performance. Our first half performance should have seen us out of reach but hey-ho we still make life just a bit difficult for ourselves until that late free kick gave the scoreline a more accurate reflection. Well done to the City I was well chuffed to see a very committed hardworking performance today.
I would fancy a nice local (to me) away trip to Oxford in the next round, but I suppose a home tie would see us having a better chance of progressing.

Excellent result today, although no doubt someone will start being negative ! Lets hope for Carshalton or Northwood at home in the next round !

Well done to Craig Wilding for getting player of the month...again. He had another solid game and deserved his goal.
A good perfoance from all the lads. Rob Elvins and Robbie Davies had a great first half, but M.O.T.M. for me was Alfie! He looked threatening every time he got the ball.
A good entertaining game for a chilly afternoon.
;D ;D ;D

Oh... and another poor performance by the referee and we've seen a few this season.
Rob Davies booked unnecessarily, the other decisions were bewildering.

You lucky mascot, Fin - come back soon. Bring on the C*rpets! Well said. Though not the Scum! Whoever the worst team left is, at home please? Very well Done though for being the Black & White 'mockneys'. Though let's hop they stay up and take points from the shower above when they next play?

Alfie Carter ran himself into the ground. Well done Alfie, 110% effort.
And well done Wilding. A very good performance from him
And Birdfeeder no remarks about my being his biggest critic.
All in all a good all round performance.

Apparently some people think that the Trophy is a pain. Well, I'm a masochist now! I'll look forward to suffering like that any Saturday afternoon, ta.
Awesome performance, and these days my awe is not easily somed. This despite the referee keenly looking for bookings - as a Christmas clown.
That it came out of the financial turmoil surrounding the club is a testament to the skills of RD and CH - who both also played a blinder from the dugout. Obviously their critics on here will be big enough to say something similar....
Great afternoon. Well done all.
Now, onwards & upwards.

Just shows how video can be used to give the totally wrong impression of a match !!! Amazing how City got 3 goals without even 1 attack !!

The criticism is more an indirect attack on the board. And highly suspect Lge.form, more to do with the former than RD & CH?

Outstanding performance throughout the team yesterday with Alfie certainly my MOTM. It's an old cliche but we won because we wanted it more than they did. Need to carry this form into the league though. Pity there weren't more there to see it but good support from those who made the effort.

The difference for me today was the closing down and blocking. Everybody contributed. There wasn't a single player who didn't give his all. And Alfie made the front line look considerably more threatening. As somebody has already said, I thought the direction from RD from the dugout was excellent. All we need now is a little consistency. Well done one and all.

Well done one and all. That sounds ideal. Always a good way of helping get a result in a tight game. But we need a lot of consistency! Here's hoping.

I don't often post on here nowadays, because of all the negativity, but I just had to say I thought City's forward line was, for 20 minutes in the first half, unstoppable. When I saw the team sheet, with McGregor and Elvins paired up front and Alfie out wide left my heart sank, but they proved me entirely wrong.
My grandson and I arrived v early on Saturday and saw the Grays players out on the pitch before they'd changed. My question to him was "Do they look up for it?". His answer was the same as mine "NO" and we were proved right.
As for that joke of a referee Mr Bennett, well we've seen him before and he's always crap. IMHO the "foul" on Dinsmore, which lead to the free-kick and hence the 3rd goal, was nothing of the kind - it was a dive from where I stood. Happily for us Mr B got it wrong.
