Dreadfully sad, particularly as young men sign up to serve Queen and Country, and end up being pawns in someone elses political games. You would have hoped that "cannon fodder" would have died a long time before Harry Patch, but clearly not. So sad, so very very sad.

It is extremely sad, and we know the Mother of Joe Murphy who got buried last week, but...
I am afraid that once you sign up, you do what you are told, however stupid that may be, and that will never change Jem....

That is true Cogg, but sometimes you just have to wonder about the futility of it all. Dylan wrote two songs way way back in the 60's Masters of War and John Brown - two songs whose words bring a lump to the throat. But this isn't something I want to debate.
