The lowest league gate at the Lane since another Monday night 1-1 on 25th March, 1996. The opponents were Sudbury Town and Kieran Mooney, sorry, Hemstock, scored for City. The attendance was 448.

Glad of the draw in the end. Thought Rob Davies did well in the 2nd half. Didn't always find the target/player but the thought, intent and endeavor was there. Jamie Price also did well in the Ariel battles. Well done Kevin Spencer looked OK at the back and got a well taken goal. Marco once again tireless and battled well. Shabir gave another fine performance. That was my positive...now the negative. What a surreal atmosphere...how sad. Just a handful of city faithful, some jeering (sometimes funny) away fans (liked the "we're not singing any more" chant after city scored) + one bloody moaner! THE Moaner Week after week every time a city player touches the ball this so called fan is there with the monotonous whining and criticism. I'm of the opinion that yer pays yer money etc, etc. but Surely if it's that bad he could find something better to do with his time instead of: - (a) demoralizing the team he's supposed to be supporting. (b) boring me. During one game I moved my kids to the other side of the ground as I did not want this constant pessimism spoil their enjoyment. Surely there must be something else he could be doing? How about: - (a) Manning a Samaritans call line. (b) coaching an under 5's football team. (c) writing goodwill messages for Christmas cards. (d) supporting rival teams (oh no I forgot, he's already doing that) (e) MOTD pundit (no you would have to know what you were talking about) Goodnight.

What an appalling attendance, i don't care that people say theres nothing to play for or there is a credit crunch there is no way the gate should be that low, the entrance fee needs a serious review!!

someone offered to pay for me to go last night and i still turned it down. I was a die hard who never missed a home game and did what I could for the club but I refuse to put any money or time in for this bunch of con men. RD and Carl are real diamonds but the ones above (Mr Layland aside) are despicable and the lowest of the low. With each week that passes the club dies a little more.
I used to think that it was just a case of hanging on until the board eventually head for the hills (when nw fails) but not any longer.
People have seen through Hallmark and his puppets and are voting with their feet, the credit crunch has little to do with this.
The problem for the club is that once you break the habit its a very hard one to then restore. Panter said at the last forum that he wanted 300 more fans through the gate... I knew then the real likelihood was actually 300 less.
I fear the fans who have gone, have gone for good.

Yes nobby, recapturing lost fans won't be easy. There used to be a core of around 600 who would attend no matter what was going on. Not any longer. Boddy and co have driven them away. The agm was the last straw for me - they proved then they didn't care anything about us fans.
I just wonder what their excuse will be when the club go tits up? The credit crunch; the manager; the fans; the wrong sort of grass? For sure it won't be their fault.

Its not down to the entrance fee You are correct. City seem to be organised only for defence, and badly at that. No idea of attack. And the atendances show this. One chappie stood nearby me kept repeating 'it is the worst side he has ever seen turning out for the City.' Another comment was 'what we are watching is Sunday league stuff.'

Last night summed the whole season up for me "Dull". The opposition generally this season has little or no interest for me, no local derbies, no recognised opponents and no real entertainment in any home game this season. The current city team is poor but probably no worse than any of this seasons opponents. On numerous occasions this season the match is about to start and I don't know who we're playing. I am yet to see any team play well for 90 minutes at SGL this season. A few times WCFC have played well for the odd 45 minutes but not the whole 90 minutes and certainly not on a regular basis. Three shots on target last night (between both teams) not entertianing, not value for money. People can blame the Credit crunch, the old/new board, the weather, the Warriors, but for me, until the football on the pitch improves attendances will never increase.

apathy has finally spread from the boardroom, through the supporters and down to the players. The most positive I can be is, Terminal Decline

It would seem that I am in something of a minority as I found last night's game quite enjoyable by recent standards, particularly in the second half.
Can I just say too that last night I had my first venture into the Social Club since its facelift and I was quite impressed with the result that has been achieved with a bit of paint, some wall lighting and a couple of TV's with Sky/Setanta. Congratulations to the volunteers who helped out. An example of what could be done at the club with just a bit of goodwill.

Well I for one will never be back, they've killed it for me, didn't even find out Saturday's score until yesterday, and had no intention of setting foot down there last night. Congratulations DB et al....... and I'm not exactly alone, am I?

‘Spot on appraisal’ fair play it was poor! That is the most positive I can be! First time this joker has said something realistic and not just antagonistic. He's constantly adversorial, I guess its just his profession, he can't help it.
