Is there any official news following RD's meeting with the board last Thursday regarding next years budget?
The quote from RD on the BBC website 'Worcester manager Richard Dryden deflected post-match questions about the financial situation at St George's Lane, saying that he preferred to leave it to the City board to reveal the club's budgets and expectations for next season.' suggests that it might be much lower than he hoped for!

We were talking about this on Saturday.
Would suspect that a budget lower than the current reduced one will be on the cards esp as it seems virtually all other clubs are doing the same. Even those coming down from the conference are having money problems (Lewes, Northwich, Weymouth, Grays etc).
Add to that the club will be unwise to increase season tickets and may actually need to look to reduce them to get a higher uptake. In addition I would suspect that any price increase at the turnstile would also be detrimental as we are already at least £1 more than most clubs.
There is also the cloud that is a possible return to Conference North and longer travelling needing overnight stays that could also come into the reckioning.

Can't say it would be a major surprise if the budget did fall. After all, crowds are down this year and that includes two 'bumper' home fixtures to AFCW. Doesn't look too good for next season on the income front. But we won't be the only ones - I can't see there being much money in non-league football for a while.
Lets hope that RD can keep the team spirit going - whilst this squad are never going to be world beaters they have shown that they are committed to the manager and I think they have done pretty well this season. It could have been a whole lot worse. RD is a great asset.
Lets also hope that RD can keep some of the decent players he has put together. If budget allows I would be looking at keeping Danny and all of the defence including Kemp (this is our strong area), hopefully Bampton will stay (and be fit) along with Addagio and Dinsmore. Midfield still needs some major surgery, but thats been the smae for years.
Conference North - I hope not - we would get murdered in that league at the moment. CS is a weaker league and we would do well to tread water in it for a couple more seasons until the off the field issues are resolved one way or the other.

The news that Hampson took Boddy to the meeting as his `football guru` gives me little confidence either that the Chairman is his own man or that the right decisions will be made.Same old, same old,we`ve been fooled yet again!

As I've mentioned many times on this board - we cant go to the north next season. There is a rule that clubs cant be moved consistently (we have at least two years in the south whatever happens and whatever Kempster is predictung).
and anyway two clubs are in the relegation positions in the conference anyway. BUT THAT IS IRRELEVANT!

"Conference North - I hope not - we would get murdered in that league at the moment." If the Blue Square Premier League table stays the same until the end of the season, then a club will have to move out of the South. The most northerly club is the City. We will see if the three year promise is kept.

I'm with Tony, I wont be holding my breath on this one.

It's nothing to do with DB. It is part of the F.A.'s National League System Regulations:

But based on the possibility of having games against Redditch, Stafford, FC United, Tamworth, Southport, telford, I suspect the board may see better attendances and agree to such a move. Esp in light of this years gates. Esp as Wimbledon will be long gone, who else in the south will bring any fans of note ?

Trouble is three of the above mentioned teams may not be there next season. Tamworth are second, three points behind Gateshead but with three games in hand and Southport are third, six points behind but with four games in hand. So both could quite easily go up and with a bit of luck, and the wind in the right direction, Redditch, currently in the last relegation place, go down. Add to that Telford who are currently in the play-off places so more than likely three out of those six disappear.

We will see if the three year promise is kept. I can tell you now the table wont stay the same until the end of the season. It probably wont stay the same until the end of the week! One change, barring a miracle, will be that Weymouth will finish in a relegation position. And the teams at the bottom have all played different amounts of games, some 32, others 38, so things will change. And its not just down to who gets relegated into the division, but also who gets promoted into it too. I'm also not sure about the logic of moving again - yes there may possibly be one of two bigger gates. But surely that in itself isnt justification. And I live in the south! I want more than one season!

Never mind the three year promise or rule. There is always an exception to the rule.

It's nothing to do with DB. It is part of the F.A.'s National League System Regulations: Maybe we can't be "asked" to move but I would say that doesn't rule out being "invited" to move should we wish to. Then we could accept or decline the invitation as the club thinks best.
