I know it is early to forecast, but with the continuing cold spell could Saturday's game be in danger?
Yesterday the temperature on our back yard only reached -2C and during the night -09C.

According to the BBC weather site it will be a barmy 4C on saturday, whether that will be warm enough to allow the pitch to thaw only time will tell.
Shame I cannot attend as I would have like to have seen Tony in his shorts! And I will miss out on a stale cornet from the ice cream man

I heard that the covers were taken off yesterday. If that is correct the question of why they were not used prior to the new year's day match has to be asked !

thats a good question, whats the weather like locally today,is there any sign of a thaw? here in meriden(west midlands) it seems a lot warmer at the moment and local games look like they could go ahead at the moment.

That would involve some thought Tony, not something the board of WCFC are known for. A paraffin heater can be run really cheaply on frost free setting. The only downside is it can be a bit fumy. Not something that would be noticeable in the gents!
Dont start me of about the appalling ladies toilets at SGL Colin. I certainly dont miss them at all. They need condemning. They did have a lick of paint for the ladies day, to cover the mildew! The doors were not done though. It reminds me of a prison in eastern europe.

The official site site says:-
Having been on the pitch this morning (Friday), Worcester City's home game against Maidenhead United in the Blue Square South on Saturday should go ahead unless there is a severe frost overnight. 95% of the pitch was playable on Friday.
There is a frost. Whether it's severe is debatable. I'd say the stand side will still be frozen at 10am if that's when the inspection is.

It's -4 in Malvern, which is pretty severe (in this soft southern country anyway), but there is a sprinkling of snow which would suggest that it may be warming up a bit.

-1 in Worcester now, according to the thermometer in my car. No need to scrape any ice from the windscreen either.
It's not been as cold as forecast. Touch and go whether or not the game goes ahead I imagine.

Just been out on "chicken watch". Frozen solid in St Johns, I'll be surprised if the match goes ahead.

It was minus 5C in St. John's last night, but we do live an the edge of the City. Just fields 3 doors away at the end of the street.
