I understand that two of the newly elected Directors are already looking to resign on top of the 3 (Brown, Prescott and Partridge) that announced previously that they would be stepping down in January 2009. Anyone want to bet that Simon (IDIFF) Williams is one of them!?
Anyway this will leave some spaces that could be filled on the Board and might I suggest a few suitable candidates for the Board to think about co-opting:-
Barry Ward Martin Pinches Richard Widdowson Derek Jones Paul Curtis Richard Bentley.
By the way these quick resignations may lead a cynical mind to think that these people had no intention of serving on the Board at all and where just used to block any attempt to get SAG members into any of the 12 available spaces at the AGM.
It is a good job I am not cynical really!

My money is on Cliff Slade and Alistair Heyhoe-Flint going (probably unaware they were on the board in the first place) and for them to be replaced by Robert Mugabe (to ensure that people fade away quietly) and John DeLorean (dead and bankrupt - the perfect person for the current boards selection criteria)

I dont believe that LB, JP and TP will stand down anyway. Two of them would lose their livelihood.

So if board members stand down I assume others will be co-opted on - rather than being elected by the shareholders. Shows what a farce the agm was. It was just a way of blocking entry to others. And they talk of transparency?

there is transparency to a degree in that we can all see right through them.

And they talk of transparency? They wouldn't even need to co-opt anyone else on. It was simply to block oiks like Martin Pinches gettingonto the board.

I would suggest that anyone who does resign should be hounded by shareholders until they reveal precisely why they have gone and why their circumstances have suddenly changed in such a short space of time. They should not be allowed to disappear quietly but should be pestered until they reveal what is happening. As the board have specifically recommended to shareholders that they should vote for them for the long term good of the club only for them to quit within a week then this should set alarm bells ringing in all pro-board shareholders. Having no real knowledge of AGM procedures when is it feasible for another vote of no confidence to be put forward? One other thought. Are these two resignations tied in with the bank meeting and the fact they will be personally liable for a proportion of the debt if the bank call time on current arrangements?

The long term good of the club? . Hallmark has already stated that they are only here until we get to Nunnery Way and that three of them are resigning in January.

I received this response from Hampson - no mention of my queries about the social club !!
Dear Alison My understanding of the voting proceedure from the legal advice ,the memorandum and articles of association and the fact that the proxy and polling forms made clear an aggregation of the votes would be used on the day and that was to be used ,if some information was misleading then I must apologise for this.In terms of Mr Pinches we have had a resignation from one of the new Directors this morning and I also think Mr Williams is also considering his position I will now be offering Mr Pinches a seat on the Board if he so desires and subject to the necessary proceedures being followed. As regards the other Directors they have agread to go next month and I am offering the running of the social club on an open invitation to tender next week.As regards the supergoal competition this will be monitored on a seperate accounting Sage System and information made freely available in future.By January I will have 4 vacancies on the Board so if you would or somebody else consider being involved in running the Club please let me know and write in .Many thanks for your support and I look forward to meeting you in the near future.Anthony

I have been so fed up by the farce engineered by Mr Hallmark that was the AGM I could not be bothered to pass any comment since. However the prospect of the odious Mr Williams leaving so soon (again) has rather perked me up! Not enough to get me back down the Lane though.

Now that there are vacancies (& redundancies) 1). I wonder if RW or DJ will be co-opted in order to secure their offer to guarantee a large income for the social club. 2). I wonder if that offer still on the table. 3). I wonder if any of the "SAG" group will put themselves forward to this board. Now may be a good time to see which faction will swallow their pride & prove to us who really does have the best interest of the club at heart.

With 4 spare places (if Martin Pinches takes up their offer) we could have more than one rep on the board. I say we press them for at LEAST 2. Then we might start to see some proper boardroom debate.

They are unlikely to allow anyone outside the clique to get access to the board. That's what the agm was all about - closing the door. Colin has been allowed in because they insist he's the ST rep, which he's not. That way they can be seen to be working with supporters, yet still keep him in the dark. It's a farce.

As a lifelong WCFC fan now living in distant parts,I did not get to the AGM but all reports indicate that much of it was a farce. The whole thing smacks of jerrymandering of the worst kind and the news that some of those elected are already about to resign bears out my belief that they were merely placemen used to keep out `undesirables`.I have asked myself over and over why people who have never set foot on SGL should suddenly want to be involved and can come up with only one logical explanation.MONEY!Long experience has taught me that if you wish to solve a mystery just `follow the money`. At least three of the old Directors have every reason to preserve the status quo whilst some of the` new blood` will undoubtedly have a pecuniary interest in the proposed move. As far as Boddy is concerned, rumour has it that he has never held down `a proper job` in his life, going from one so-called fund-raising scheme to the next and moving between small-time football clubs at will until reaching the pinnacle of his ambition at WCFC.My bet is that it will be a long wait until that `January` resignation! My heart aches for you all.
