The majority have spoken & whether you like it or not the new board is confirmed. I hope this is not the end of your support for your club. The board has promised to be open, not only in it's "dealings" but also open to suggestions & help. This should be your opportunity to help grow it's success. Most of you have almost demanded to be an active part of sub commitees, working parties etc to help develop the club. now you will be given the chance to help with more than just lip service. Two good examples being The social club & the catering. If as has been suggested many times these can be turned around in a matter of weeks, lets see it being done. It was good to meet you for the first time Jem & Andy, lets hope you & all the other so called life long avid supporters can put this mess behind & help the whole thing move forward. The new board deserve to be given a chance to prove that with our help they can deliver. The fight should go on & perhaps the SAG group will now be able to work with the board as it has so many new characters who, you never know might just be good for us ! A final note regarding Anthony Hampson, Would everyone agree it was refreshing to hear someone actually say that they haven't got a clue, but would come back with answers & isn't he a nice guy

I too was impressed by Hampson and Hallmark at the meeting.
I wanted new blood in the Boardroom and it was delivered. When the three "old guard" Directors resign in January then only Boddy will remain from the Directors in place at the start of this season. The SAG of course are not going to be happy because it was not just new blood they wanted, but their new blood.
I think we have to give the new board a chance and hold them to account in relation to the promises they have made. If they stuff up then I won't vote for them at the next AGM.

"I won't vote for them at the next AGM"
You still think that will make the slightest difference?

Jimbo, support for the club begins with leadership and example, Mr Hallmark made the statement that between the board they had purchased £10000 of shares, big deal that averages out at £833 each. Had they purchased 3000 each for starters I would have been more impressed with their committment to the club rather than this token gesture.
I would in the first instance like to see some joined up thinking in respect of Nunnery Way ie Alan Williams repeatedly saying there will be no overage or profit share, and yet within the missive delivered by our new Chairman he tells us there will be a £950000 profit share. An amount that conveniently balances the proceeds from sale with outgoings to arrive at Nunnery Way.

What's happened to me over the last season or so is that I've changed from being a die-hard fan to a customer. I.e. someone who chooses when and where to spend their money. If you change "die-hard fan" to "mug" then it starts to make sense. The problem is how many mugs like me will just not return to the club even if future boards get it right?

Mmmmmmmmmmm Greenman, am I right in thinking that you were one of the contigency who (& quite rightly) said that the SAG group could not put an accurate business plan together until they had access to & been able to investigate the accounts to see exactly what the position is ? But you seem to think this new board can ! A H was honest enough last night to admit he was still in that position. I think he was shocked at some of the details on which he was being enlightened. I will be very surprised if there is not a quick turn around in the fortunes of the social club, with or without the offer RW & DJ have made for several years. However, I sincerely hope that they will still be the driving force behind because they will without doubt receive far more support than the new board to make the project a rapid success.

However shocked Mr Hampson may appear, the fact that things happened in the past prior to him being elected is an irrelevence, particularly in light of his, and other peoples endorsement of those who created the mess. How could anyone seriously be impressed with Mr Hampson, who tried to pull such a flanker as trying to use his "casting vote" in a vote that had been lost!!! Particularly as he'd tried to get it through without a count! Good on yer VOR - and I never thought I'd hear myself say that.

Fear not, I will continue to support the football club that I've supported for too many years to remember. I will support it in every way I can to ensure its survival. As soon as is possible, I will start by write my letter of objection to the Nunnery Way scheme.

"I hope this is not the end of your support for your club."
To make an analogy: Imagine someone had been eating at a restaurant since being taken there as a kid by his parents. The place holds memories and he feels loyal enough to buy shares in it. Over the years he takes his own kids, but not only does the standard of the food decline, he also finds out that the bar area is making a huge loss. The director in charge retains his job despite the shareholders protesting. The restaurant manager even acknowledges that the bar is a problem. Nothing is done. Then offers to help are rejected, the food gets worse. Accounts are late, auditors come and go. The restaurant is making a huge loss. The food gets even worse. No one is brought to book.
Yet still our man eats there - and nowhere else. I'd think he was an idiot. Yet when this same scenario is applied to a football club he's denounced as disloyal. It's a moral blackmail that small time charlatans hide behind.

Well done Jeremy at least unlike others, you have come out with a positive statement to stay with the club. Lets hope that your objections to Nunnery Way are accompannied by a viable alternative that the company will take on board. And we can only hope that you will give this new lot the same level of backing which you would have given the SAG group & sustain it until such time as they prove to be unworthy of the position, rather than them proving themselves 1st as most people on here seem to be intending. I say give them the benefit of doubt & back them all the way.

ealing, you are making assumptions that there will be no change. They've hardly got their feet under the table ! They will not turn down RW & DJ if the offer is still on the table !

I also don't have any doubts about certain members of the board, due diligence has removed the doubt.

This is the same posting on the other thread, but I felt it needed saying.
I regard the meeting as a travesty of justice and a coup by the current Board of Directors, who used the voting strength of their multiple shareholding to give themselves a mandate, or that's no doubt how they see it. Us little shareholders, despite - I suspect - voting for the SAG, never had a chance.
However, now that the result is known I am prepared to buckle down and support the club in any way I can and draw a line under events up to that point. That's if, after Wednesday's meeting between the Chairman and RBS, we still have a club to support.
