Thought I'd better come on and post or you'd all think that I was crying into my beer. The match itself aside, I found the day itself to be OK.It was amusing to see DB running around outside the ground, trying to work out why AFCW fans were trying to go in the main entrance (note to the said gentleman: if you want away supporters to enter the ground through a different turnstile, you have to show them where that turnstile is). And what a tragedy that no away fans could get in the anti-social club if they were standing to watch the game. Boogie Wonderland twice in the half time break?? Do I summise that there is not a large record collection? And another point for the board-when segregating fans, and keeping AFCW fans in after the game, don't decide that three or four minutes is sufficient enough time for the Worcester fans to disperse. And don't get me started on that bell!!

So not quite the resounding success that is being claimed. Obviously it was the supporters and their good common sense that made everything happen smoothly. So from the sound of it, there wasn't really any segregation plans after all, rather a free for all on entry and make it up as you go along. Well it worked - well done AFC Wimbledon and Worcester City supporters!!

"Boogie Wonderland twice in the half time break?"
Sorry Rushwickdon, they obviously ran out of time to play it a third time.

there was an away supporters sign but it was on the floor leant against the wall by the turnstile they were meant to go through, so as soon as about two people stood queuing to go in you couldn't see it.

Excluding the period between 3.01 and 4.55pm and the train journey back, had a nice day out in your fine city :-) If we must include the match, your boys were certainly up for it and we could have been 4-0 down in the first 15 minutes. But, enough of that.
Sad to say, I get a feeling of deja vu having lurked on this site over the last few weeks. Really hope everyone gets behind your Trust and gets/keeps your local council onside. Your club board certainly sound a rum bunch. Couldn't judge numbers in a crowd to save my life but was amused (think that's the word I'm looking for) to see that Dons in the (seated) stand got posh. laminated tickets but those of us on the terracing behind the goal got no ticket or receipt of any kind. Normal practice, all fully accounted for, I have no doubt.
Good luck - on and off the pitch!

Thanks for that Ladydon, and can i say your support was superb, and i really respect the loyalty you all show your club ... shame this "faithful city" can't do the same! You'll get the promotion you deserve, and we'll get the administration our directors are aiming us at, but one day in the future, AFC Worcester will meet you again ..... I wish you all every success

But the behaviour of the AFCW supporters was very good indeed. But as previously posted, the opening of the gates to allow the opposition support to leave the ground was not timed properly. Whoever was organising the proceedure did not allow enough time for the WCFC supporters to walk all around the ground and clear the streets.

Due to the short time period given before Dons fans were allowed to leave the ground, I got to chat to some of them on the way home. All were very friendly and wished us well with our current financial situation. Fantastic support, just a pity we couldn't match the numbers with our own fans.
It's a sad reflection of the current state of the club that we cannot arouse enough interest among the potentially huge catchment for a game like the afcw game. In years gone by we would have probably been looking at a 2500+ crowd.
Well done to the lads though, they did us proud.
