Pretty good today, played some good football and deserved a bigger winning margin. Went a goal down on 8 mins to a tap-in after Danny had saved a penalty but only succeeded in pushing it onto the post, but Jamie Price's 30 yard volley brought the best out of their keeper. Matt Dodd went close, and Owen and Bampton both had shots deflected wide as we dominated the first half. Gary Walker came on for Owen at half time, Troy moved to up front and Jamie Price went out to left midfield. Jemiah The Messiah came on up front for Troy about ten mins into the second half, and equalised on 62 with a new post flick header across the goal from a Price corner, and then scored a magnificent second 7 mins later, turning sharply in the box and leaving his marker for dead before drawing the keeper and slipping the ball into the corner of the net. We could have had a couple more, Jordan Fitzpatrick went close twice, and we were well worth a win. It's starting to come together pretty well.

Another good performance. Totally dominated the game but didn't really create anything of note until the messiah arrived. Shot of the game had to be Prices 25 yard volley that was tipped over. Jemiah looked comfortable up front but we do need a proven striker esp with Craigs suspension, the lack of experience for Matt and Troy and to cover Mark Owens possible injury. (he recieved lengthy treatment at the end of the first half then was subbed at half time.) Overall thought Dodd had a good game again, as did Price and Bampton until he was subbed.

Was a good all round performance. Dodd showed why RD put faith in him, constantly threatening down the right and skinning whoever Rugby put up against him. The messiah, well what can one say, cool, calm and collected in front of goal. All the team played okay, no-one went missing or didn't try.
The Rugby ground was a nice affair and the club facilities would put many clubs around us to shame. If we were seriously looking at a ground style we may be getting, this would be it.
A very nice day out, hopefully more to come.

I think you would find that about 20 of them stayed in the bar the whole game. You could watch the game from there and have a view of 95% of the pitch (what a luxury).
Talking of luxury, there were sinks, soap and hand driers in their toilets. I had to think a minute before working out what they were.

Did anyone notice that a defender scored both goals for the City?
Do we have the same old problem of the forwards not being able to put the ball in the net?
