Mr Boddy, in his press release of 2nd July said :
"We now proposed holding an AGM in September where all shareholders will have the opportunity to voice their opinions. In advance of this we will be inviting all supporters to an open meeting where we will put forward our plans for the future of the Club. We will provide details of this within the next week."
That was 10 days ago, and in my calender weeks are traditionally 7 days long. Given the Board's new fond "cornerstone commitment" to "improved communication" this is pathetic.
I wonder what odds Skybet would give on an AGM in September, as promised? Got to be worth a tenner at any odds!

An AGM in September? Possibly a supporters open meeting in advance of this?
Who is the Chairman trying to kid? Himself, presumably!

Two weeks down the line, and no details, apart from an offer to throw up 4 fellow Board members for resignation (as long as the Chairman stays on, and no place at the "Head Table" for Supporters Groups!!)

And therein lies the problem. Yet more broken promises from Dave Boddy and the Board of Directors.
On 2nd July 2008 Dave Boddy promised details of an open meeting for all supporters and made clear that details would be revealed "within the next week."
Today is the 16th July 2008 and this is 14 days after Dave Boddy made this committment, and no news.
This follows on from a letter to all shareholders promising the full financial details of the sale of SGL at the Shareholders meeting...another broken promise.
I no longer trust the people running the club, as they have consistently failed to keep their promises and obviously have no regard whatsoever for the supporters or shareholders of WCFC, the business they are supposed to be running. This level of extreme arrogance has alienated me completely.
That is why I am supporting the efforts of those trying to replace the Board of Directors, not because I am a big fan of the individuals concerned, but because at least they appear willing to listen and take on board the views of supporters and appear to respect the position of the Club's shareholders.

I have to say that I was not in favour of calling an EGM at this particular time as I thought it would do more harm to the Club than good. Also, just the threat of it appeared to wake the current Board up at little. However, the silence coming from Dave Boddy regarding the proposed meetings, as announced on 2 July, is quite staggering. It's like he's intent on pressing the self destruct button. WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON DAVE? If there was no plan for an announcement within a week, why say anything? I may be a late convert but the contempt the Board is showing towards the shareholders and fans is now swaying me towards the 'rebel' cause.

finally!!! Although why the manager is involved I don't know, surely this is about understanding their vision for the future of WCFC Ltd. isn't it? One thing I'd like clarity on is whats on the agenda, and whether it will be another meeting where no answers can be given to the questions. So, in advance. Can we now have details of the finances regarding the ground move? Can we have assurances that the whole scheme isn't financed via overage? Can we have an update on the status of the ground move in the present uncertaintly re construction? What is the Plan B? Is there a Plan B? At the shareholders meeting it was stated by Alan Wiliams "No ground move, no Worcester City FC" Will there be a role for Supporters at EVERY level within the club? Will there be plans to change the constitution to allow for serious investment in the business? Will the accounts be presented to Companies House? Will the newly announced "Directors" be formally made Directors (so far this has not been done) Will the changes to the Articles of Association be lodged at Companies House, as this has so far not been done, there is no documentation lodged at Companies House which outlines the changes to increase the shareholding to 300,000 shares, with shareholders allowed a maximum of 1% of 300,000 shares - even though there are shareholders presently with more than the previous maximum of 2000 shares. In essence, will all of this administrative tardiness be cleared up?? With all due respect to Richard Dryden, or for any other manager at any other club throughout the land apart from Sir Alex Ferguson and possibly Arsene Wenger, it is unlikely that he will feature in the long term future of the football club, thats just a reality (you might as well invite a few players along as well!!) So thanks for finally setting up the open meeting, but make sure that it IS open, don't hide behind NDA's or confidentiality agreements, or else it will be yet another waste of time, and leave a bad taste in supporters mouths.

I think having RD there is a very bad idea, the club should call a later football forum if need be but this is bound to get heated as the focus is more on the egm and the business side of the football club, that is what the fans/shareholders want, they don’t need to hear from RD on how the friendlies are going.
"...The Club would urge that all interest parties should come and participate in the evening"
I can see this turning into a real big bun fight and if there is anyone at wcfc who should be as far removed as possible from these affairs, shielded from them actually, then that person is RD, his staff and the players. It will obviously have some effect on him and his role but he should be allowed to get on with his job without any involvement in this.
He is doing a really good job so just let the poor bloke get on with it.
sorry I can see no good coming from dragging the manager into this sort of hostile environment the best we can hope for is that Richard does his bit first then leaves the meeting with our best wishes for the season.

Totally agree. He shouldn't be there.

It sums the directors up really, hiding behind RD rather than face the music, bit like Laurie Brown taking issue with me about what I said in the meeting in the car park afterwards!!!

Why are they holding it somewhere else when we have the social club? Is it because they are too ashamed to use it?

Does the club have the use of the Whitehouse Hotel for free? The club is virtually broke yet a decision has been made to use a venue away from our own ground.

What a waste of time? This meeting will resolve nothing.
I am very concerned at the lack of news, the late filing of accounts (albeit vastly out of date ones), the rsignation of the finance director (& three other board members earlier) and the delay in holding an Annual General Meeting of members (let alone an EGM).
I want to buy 2 season tickets and renew my player sponsorship but I feel that I must hold off passing £500+ to the Club I love in case it just slips into a black hole or is trousered by the Bank.
Until we are told what is going on - in some depth and validated by an independent view - then I will save my cash for AFC Worcester.
I can't be the only one in this position.

Listen up Mr Boddy, this isn't just nutty troublemaker Brooksider telling you. Please take some good advice, this situation is seriously costing the club both money and goodwill. Please do not think that wheeling out the manager at the meeting will cause those with concerns to keep quiet for the sake of the manager! I see where you're coming from, but think of the consequences if this backfires!

They probably have, hoping to make money out of the bar - the hotel that is. Anyone with some business acumen would have seen this as a money spinner for the club, but I forgot the social club is the biggest dive in Worcester!
