I went along to my first supporters club AGM tonight and I have to say I was very impressed with what I heard. Phil and Dave reported that the supporters club had made a tidy profit from various fund raising initiatives such as a race night at SGL and still been able to contribute large sums of money directly to the team.
At the beginning of last season the SC paid for a training camp for the then manager Andy Preece and the squad prior to the pre season friendlies and as well as providing training balls for manager Richard Dryden they are about to finance the acquisition of the metal free kick defensive walls for training.
It was also very interesting in light of todays announcement from the proposed new board of directors that the supporters club members present voted unanimously in favour of a change of leadership at the club and wished for their total block of shares in WCFC (1400+) to be used to back the proposed new board at the upcoming vote at the EGM.
The fundamental reason for change being the lack of respect shown from the current board.

I was also at my first Supporters Cub AGM, what I found most disappointing was to hear that senior members of the Supporters Club had written/emailed/telephoned or even handed letters directly to members of the current board and never got any response to their requests.
As mentioned in a previous post , it was good to see Rich Widdowson attend the meeting and discuss his hopes for the football club with the supporters and answer all questions put to him (without "no comment" etc) and a proposal by the Supporters Club Commitee to support the takeover groups bid was voted "in favour" by fans who attended the meeting.
It was also good to have a chat with Rushwick's token AFC Wimbledon fan!!!! good to meet you.

It was also good to have a chat with Rushwick's token AFC Wimbledon fan!!!! good to meet you. [/quote] Thanks- good to meet you too. As I said, there were lots of things that I could have said, but I didn't want it to turn into an AFCW diatribe (which I guarantee it would have if I'd have got going!!) I think that the most poignant thing was the fact that it was the Supporters Club AGM, and yet you were unable to hold it in the football club itself, due to the full time bar manager seemingly not having opened the bar!!! Absolutely astounding. Closely followed by the suggestion that WCFC go bust and reform a few leagues below- the poor guy who suggested it was derided by many, yet if the financial outlook is so bleak, then perhaps it is not a greatly outlandish idea after all. And whilst WCFC and AFCW are going to be rivals on the pitch next season, I seriously hope that there is a good future for the club- after all, I now live in the city. Whilst none of you know me from Adam, I want to help in any way that I can. And no, we didn't go bust

Another Boo Boo by the Club not opening the Bar for the Supporters Club AGM. Fancy the Football Supporters Club not being able to have a meeting on the Club premises. I ask you?
