17 mins: Nick Rogan's pass break to Matt Henney and the Barrow winger fires across Chris Sanna and into the bottom corner to put the hosts ahead.

I listened to the second-half commentary and I must say what a pleasure it was to hear such a professionally done commentary. A real change from the usual drivel offered by BBC H & W. Well done to all concerned.

Searched for an old thread, just to save writing a new heading - and look what came up!
Now to the present: what's the chances of Saturday's match taking place? With plenty of rain last night and even more to come tomorrow I'd say it looks like a blank weekend.

Rearranged for Tuesday 8 April. If we are running out of available Tuesdays it must be odds on Oxford and Gloucester will be playing Thursdays as well as Tuesdays. Shame!!

We are running out of dates fast, the Aggborough pitch won't hold up for that many games. Fortunutly it seems our landlords are playing hoof ball under their new manager so they don't keep the ball on the surface for very long !

I am up in Barrow already, looking forward to Saturday's match. The weather forecast is good. Spring is here.
And, having won 1-0, am deliriously happy!
If there is a more hostile crowd than that at Barrow then I don't know where it is: they are all in-bred.
Hats off to the lads though, I thought they really deserved that: worked hard, closed Barrow down, had the best of the first half, defended like Trojans towards the end. Ebby Nelson-Addy (or was it Ramsey-Dixon?) missed a sitter that would have made it 2-0; that pass came from new signing Martin Devaney, who showed some great touches.

Fantastic result. Thomas sounded a rock at the back and looks to be a good signing.

38 points. 10 games to get (maybe) 6 points for safety! Should be safe with a month to go

It was an intriguing fixture given Barrow's great run and City's resurgence. A terrific result indeed! Does that make it the same numbers of away wins as home wins? Sadly Barrow in the spring was just too far for me to do in a day and so my football was watched in gale force winds at the banks of the Tay watching the club of former City manager Bill Thompson...any guesses?

Form guide for the last 8 matches has City in fifth which is play off form so top half finish is possible with 6 home games out of the last nine.
It shows how well the club is being managed both on and off the field as in 2014 City have had only 2 Saturday Home games which has been proved with recent events involving other teams so critical for finances and yet can still sign new players.

He was a rock indeed: he was everywhere, got his foot on everything, and though they huffed and puffed a lot, one good save by Ryan Boot and one goal-line clearance by Tyler Weir apart, they never looked like scoring.

I think Carl was having a job to keep a straight face, but let's face it, after a win like that a little bit of horseplay can be forgiven.

You are right there, Tim ! I bet Carl gave his assistant a right pasting after that after-match performance!
This season is amazing for how no less than three CN managers have been able to transform their teams completely after really shocking starts. Given the background, Carl`s performance is probably the best but his counterpart last Saturday, Darren Edmonson, has transformed Barrow since moving over from Workington around Christmas just as Mark Bower has done with Guiseley after losing his first seven games.
Just goes to show there is no proven criteria on which to determine whether or not you should replace a manager when the team`s having a bad trot!
