Yes Mancunian_wcfc that is correct its just the numbers that Telford will bring with them and they are a nasty bunch, don't know if anyone remembers 6 years ago at Telford in Cup the Police escorting us out of a side gate due to Telford Fans gathering up outside with baseball bats. I remember it extremely well. Escorted across the worlds muddiest field I seem to recall! Lovely.... all for a few "head the balls" who the police seemed more interested in vido'ing rather than actually policing.

Fella - if I wasn't involved in local semi-pro football to the extent I am - then I'd happily offer my services as a fully FETAC Qualified Steward (which entitles me to steward at any FAI or FIFA International match played in the Republic of Ireland) - and point out where you are going wrong.
(I did two seasons of working for a Premier Division Club in Ireland on their Security Team - best moment I can remember was having a lit flare thrown at me by some Cork City fans a couple of seasons back) I still have my blue jacket somewhere...

yes I remember that - the police must have got new camcorders that xmas, they were just playing with them for some unknown reason. And then telling all the cityfans to leave via Gate 6 (like we knew where gate 6 even was) and through muddy unlit fields was disgraceful.
Maybe this time we should escort all the Telford fans out via the Brookside toilets!!!!!

Notorious Boo Boy - OUCH
Tell that to the Head Steward and Assistant Steward both with Premier League experience with Birmingham City FC and Crystal Palace FC.
I think they have far better experience than you mate.

Well I am a moderator and they will not be kicked off as neither of them is the person who has started to be abusive as you have, albeit mildly. But as for you...is there any need to keep having a dig at people?

Oh my God !!! Can somebody start a Steward Dream Team ? I think you are both very brave boys and thank you for putting what are effectively Club Steward CV's onto this forum. Its wonderful knowing that there is such a competitive edge to Stewarding and where one has worked before. While we're at it can Wayne start a new section to go alongside City Banter and General and call it - Stewarding : Where have YOU done it..? We are on a good run, with a new Management Team, New signings being announced imminently and all some of you can find time to do is have cheap little digs at who's the best Steward and slag off people with the club at their heart.... A M A Z I N G!

Well, there is a problem with the equipment where it is. And a spectator could get injured. And as has been pointed out to the club by Colin Layland, it could lead to a lawsuit if anyone is injured by the equipment, especially if there is a bumper crowd, the access off the terracing is ridiculously narrow.
It looks as if we don't agree with you, you will take the toys away Preecey!!!!

It wasn't Telford fans outisde with bats last time - it was the local skanger element. Big difference. And as for the Shed being closed? If true then that's a ludicrous decision - in all my 22-years of going to home games I cannot recall the Shed being closed for ANY game (including the dark days of threats of "hooliganism" during the 80s, and the big Cup games down the years). A packed Shed gives us a big advantage during these big matches imo (the Accy Cup Replay being the prime example from a couple of seasons back) Just shows how little faith the club have in the inadequate arrangements that pass for "stewarding" inside the ground - tantamount to the club admitting "if anything starts to happen inside the ground then we haven't a hope in hell of restoring order" so we'll take a sledgehammer to crack a very small walnut that might not even present itself. Why should the proper fans be penalised thanks to shoddy practices in place elsewhere? The sooner we get our heads out the sand and start having properly trained and accredited Security personnel on duty at games instead of a couple of old codgers or those who just want to watch the game for free the better. I'll be glad of the day when we have to implement Club Licensing and this kind of nonsense is put to bed once and for all... FFS. Why not give Telford a goal start while we're at it? Regarding the above the Shed will only be shut until 15 mins before KO, Depending on how many Telford fans turn up on the day will determine wether Telford fans will be put in Shed aswell, if they only have enough to fill behind the goal and stand D then the shed will be open as normal for City fans, it is not being shut off and being left empty.

If it is raining and Telford fans get the Shed, I hope we're let into the stand for free.
This is a joke. If Telford bring more than the 630?? that our away end holds, tough. Firt come, first served. If Telford fans are rejected because of this their club hould have allocated tickets giving priority to, say, season ticket holders.

I dont see why they should be allowed the shed, that will cause trouble. Look at the hassle the stewards had when those two lads from Nuneaton was it, stood in the shed chanting.
I think they should have limited access to number allowed in the segregated end. I dont see why the home fans should be inconvenience because they have a large yob element.
Ticket only entry makes sense for away fans. Do the board need a woman to come and think for them because sometimes I do wonder if they are just all asleep at their meetings as they are being very stupid recently. Obviously the signing of RD was a moment of genius on their part but the fiasco over the disabled stand and now this - for god sake get real DB! The hair dye has affected his brain!

Well, have we siqned anybody? nope RD spoke about bringing him into Saturdays squad in his interview on H&W. The only gossip Ive heard recently is how annoying and uptight webbtony is. OK Well it looks like its not going to happen at least not for Saturdays game anyway. The target RD was referring to wont be at training tonight.

I don't think people are looking at this Shed thing from the clubs perspective. With home attendances consistently below 800 they will do their utmost to make hay while the cold sun shines, so if Telford bring more than the Canal End capacity they will of course be given more space. I would not expect the board to think about it any other way than in £10 notes.

Yes exactly niels thus excluding their own fans who have not come for a fight. They are alienating their own fans, but of course what do we matter. A mens loo with no light, a ladies loo that is so primative even the RSPCA wouldnt rehome a pig in it.
If there is likely to be trouble I certainly will think twice about coming. Teams with yobby chav supporters should be penalised not the local fans

You are going on information given to you by Preecey yesterday (earlier in this thread). His information is based on what happened 6 years ago in that FA trophy game. Telford are a completely different club now, it is owned by the fans. I'm not saying that they don't have troublemakers just that you, or I don't really know. I was there 6 years ago and the only yob I saw was Sammy and his elbow. Secondly exactly which of our fans are being alienated, would it be the troublemakers who populate the Shed when we have a big game. Any other time it is empty except for when it is raining.

I agree it sounds like a good idea to make use of the shed for the potentially high numbers of telford fans.

I agree, Wayne.
The Canal End and D stand together hold about 500. If Telford are going to bring more than that, then it makes sense for them to use the Shed, as I presume that is the next easiest area to segregate off.
Could be valuable income, and I doubt City fans will fill the remaining 2,500-3,000 capacity. Would be nice if they did, though!

How do you segregate The Shed? Surely one end of it is open to the Brookside?
I know the Canal End of it has a fence just round the corner, but the other end?

How on earth do you segregate the Shed? Unless of course a metal fence and big gate are going up this evening!!! And why bother? There's plenty of room at the Canal End and the D Stand, away fans don't need any more than that.
