???In my days at school which finished in December, 1948. Dudley was an island of Staffordshire surrounded by Warwickshire or Worcestershire, I forget which now. It is such a long time ago. Wrong way round. It was is an exclave of Worcestershire surrounded by Staffordshire.

I do stand corrected.
Yes, Dudley was surrounded by Staffordshire. Us oldies do sometimes have difficulty in remembering things which we learned some 60 odd years ago.

2 days a week we finished at 2.50, it kinda made up for being there till 12.50 on a saturday!!!
