Made a (very last minute) decision not to go today. As a City fan for 40+ years, I'm used to bad spells and not winning, so I don't base my attendance on the idea that we might get beat.
But this time, it's different. There is something about the situation that we're in, that feels "wrong". Can't put my finger on it, but with club favourites leaving and so many new players coming in, it just feels like the club is in freefall with no ideas (Much like the current government).
I'll still be there Saturday, but away games and midweek games are probably off the agenda for the foreseeable future.

So, Tim Harris has been shunted sideways onto the Board and the new joint managers have been appointed with the hope that they will bring in players that will revitalise the team. However, it appears that all they have done is to get rid of and/or annoy many of the players that played well last season including Chris Withington who, apparently was told where the 'managers' wanted him to play and said no thanks. How short sighted are these morons to get rid of the best midfielder we've had over the last few seasons and who made the team tick, as witnessed by last season when he was injured at the start of the season and we didn't win a game and also, when he went to America, and guess what, we hardly won a game then either. Matt Hunt was also 'disposed of' after looking a good player.
It also seems that these 'managers' have no idea how competitive this league actually is and have imported lots of players that are clearly, not up to competing with teams built around big, strong, fit players with pace and commitment who never give up (witness Tividale on Tuesday). We urgently need players of this calibre such as Josh Shuck and Callum Debar (sadly both still injured). Why is it that we never seem to recruit this type of player?
I'm afraid that I cannot watch the rubbish that is being served up at the moment and will be very unlikely to attend any more home games this season, as it upsets me to see the depths to which this, once fine, Club has sunk, and the 66 mile round trip to home games is not worth it. And before you comment, or knock this, I am a season ticket holder, so the Club will not lose out by me not attending home matches.
I think that the current 'managers' need to get their act together and realise that this league is not going to be a doddle to get promotion from and it will need much more than a mass import of players to get a team together who can compete, it will need hard work and careful selection of the right type of players to do the job. Hopefully, they may have begun to appreciate this by now and things will improve soon. If not, the possibility of yet another relegation looms large.

After sadly witnessing the Tividale defeat, fortunately I decided not to go to Stourport yesterday, as I feared the worst. Having just watched the highlights, I can only recall City having one tame shot, whereas Stourport could have scored half a dozen. Whilst early days, the new management duo have not had the immediate impact that was needed. Some of our better players ( Withington and Shaw ) have left, whilst some of the replacements look far worse than what we had. Third from bottom is a true reflection, with even the bottom club, Market Drayton's only win out of 12 being against us ! 6 goals scored in 12 games is a truly pathetic effort, and it's not as though we're missing chances, we're just not creating any ! The side is bullied physically week after week, as we bring on another 5 ft 7 player to replace another 5 ft 7 player. We can't win a header in midfield or up front, yet persist in hitting 40 yard diagonal passes head high ! We are 30 points behind leaders Walsall Wood already, and even 7 points behind the 5th bottom club ! From finishing 4th last season to a target of somehow trying to avoid relegation ! What a state.

I think it’s somewhat ironic that we have replaced Tim Harris (great deal of experience and proven track record) with the new management (limited experience and questionable track record) without any good effect. I think Tim Harris is a good man and a good manager who had assembled a decent talented squad who, with maybe one or two exceptions were playing for him. Early results were poor but I do think things would have turned around and looked very different after a win or two. The new management have come in and opted for revolution as opposed to evolution brining in a host of players, without apparently evaluating the players we already had, and now we have a disjointed team and the results are still poor. How could they let really good players like Jonah, Billy Shaw, Chris Withington and Ben Tilbury leave? It seems to me there may now be a divide in the squad between what’s left of the old squad and the newcomers. It’s noticeable that you don’t see any of the players smiling or laughing anymore even in the warm ups. And the body language of the new managers is strangely negative as if they don’t really want to be here, my son commented that in the video interviews they hardly look at the camera. I know it’s early days and it takes time to build a team and I hope I’m wrong but things don’t look good.
But on a positive note there are some really positive things happening in the Club. Rob Humphries City Under 18 team is having a great season (5-3 away win against Cinderford Town in the cup in midweek) and the reserves, managed by Stewart Watkins, had a marvellous win again yesterday 5-1 against Bewdley playing some splendid football. There are some really excellent young players in the reserves such as Tyrese Segree, Matti Kilch, Ryan Glenister and Dante Spence and others, we could do far worse than give these lads a chance (if we don’t they’ll eventually go elsewhere) given where we are what have we got to lose?

How many go down from this division? Is there a chance that City will be one of them?
On the positive side a lot of new grounds to visit in 2023-2024!

It is very sad to see the players you have mentioned moving. There was a togetherness last year that can be/could be built on. Sadly with their departure what message does that send out to the younger players. It was looking as though we were giving younger local players a chance, who if they progressed to higher clubs would open up opportunities for the next generation of younger players. The smiles appear no more, on players faces, or fans. This double act does not appear to be working in fact the reverse is true. Very topical given the performance of another recently appointed double act although one of them has since got the chop.
