Much better today than Weds, although the opposition were really not very good.
Good games for Baldwin, Sam Hall, English and Harrison before he came off. Locko looked deadly as always when he came on.
Following today I’d add Sam Hall to my “retain” list.
This said, and whilst we could have scored more, we could easily have conceded several as well and a better opposition would have put some away. Lack of command from Sam Gilder, Sinclair really struggled and McFarlane looked good for parts and rubbish for other parts. So same old story really, defensively fragile. A team like Bromsgrove would have absolutely battered us today, five or six goals without reply I’d guess as we wouldn’t have had the time and space Dunkirk gave us in midfield.
Looking up and credit to the lads for the hammering they’ve had for supporters lately for still wanting it. However, it’s clear where the improvement needs to be. Leadership at the back and defensive drills. Two new centre backs I suspect will be needed for next season.

Curious one today. Could easily have been double figures. You could see why Dunkirk are relegated, very poor side, can't help feeling Reyno would have broken all club goal scoring records today, such were the chances that went begging. Balders played like he'd got a belly full of ale from last night, Batesy was really good and Jordan Harrison worked his nads off for no return. Thought Sam Hall did well but it was only when Special K came on that we had any impetus through the middle, and he again looked a class act. On that form I'd keep him. Sinclair though...I don't think I've ever seen a worse defender in a city shirt, and that includes the Big Matches! Think he needs to become an attacker and quickly. Big game from Luke English today, led by example.

Yes, a better performance today, although it was against a team that's already relegated. Their keeper kept them in the game with some fine saves - with both hands and feet - but if the objective was to move on from Wednesday night, it was achieved. Not that anyone should get too carried away, as our frailties were still evident.

Never mind the quality, feel the points. Long overdue. Nothing like a shut-out to improve a Saturday night. No doubt the journo will give Lemon man of the match for scoring and hitting the bar, but he didn't do a lot for me. Con's scores on the doors miss ford. What was the ref doing starting the second half when they'd not all come out, then the goal kick fiasco after the stoppage when he miraculously transferred possession from one end to the other!
Agree with some of the other posters on the City players today.
Gilder 6.5 - one blip but got away with it. English 7.5 - worked hard but had little to do defensively. Weir 6.5 - don't remember him going forward, did his defensive work effectively enough. Sinclair 4 - he really is crap isn't he? I'd have more confidence in Teresa May to deliver a solid performance. McFarlane 5 - gives the opposition a chance every time he goes near the ball. Caines 6.5 - better game than usual, no real calamities and worked hard. Bates 7.5 - the source of most good things City did, always looked lively and showed delivery quality. Hall 7 - worked really hard and won the midfield. Harrison 8 - covered every blade of grass and deserved at least a chance, constant thorn in their side. Lemon 7 - missed several good chances but finally sealed the points with a worldie. Baldwin 6 - was he hungover? Played like it, no energy and despite lots of opportunities never got beyond his defenders to create much
Attoumani 7.5 - bossed the midfield and gave them extra headaches, transformed the game really when he came on. Lockett 7 - tied them in knots but really should have scored at least twice. Willis 6 - not on long enough really to mark.
Man of the Match was their keeper though, was a cruel irony that it was two errors of his that cost both goals as he made probably fifteen saved.

Raiders appear to be claiming they've won the league today, have they been given the points from that abandoned game where they kicked off then?

Big result at Ilkeston today, Walsall Wood now two goals ahead on goal difference. Still think it's Ilkeston's though, they've got Dunkirk and Loughborough and they'll get a lot of joy there, whereas Walsall have got Khalsa and Wolves to finish. Can see Khalsa upsetting them a bit, and Ilkeston will batter Dunkirk to restore the goal difference.
