Ilkeston Town are actually s new club, not the same one that we played against in the Dr Martens League, although I think they play at the old Club's ground. Probably will be favourites to win the league.

Not surprised about Tomkinson, other clubs were after him last season. He's a decent player, I think Snapper rated him highly, but not sure at our level whether having a player who lives so far away is justified. One thing that I appreciate is the fact that we fielded mostly Worcestershire based players last season. Hopefully that will continue.

According to my records, Ash played 19 times (9 starts, 10 as sub) for us before being released in January 2016, having picked up a virus which led to him losing his starting place to Tristian Dunkley. He started the FA Cup games at both Gateshead and Sheffield United. He was also sent off in the first half at home to Lowestoft in August 2015.

Vincent added: “During my time at City I got the feeling that it was missing that final piece of the jigsaw and that’s probably having their own ground.
Very well spotted Ash.

It's good to see hat the company I partly own is thriving enough to be able to afford to pay an Assistant Manager !!!!

He hasn't got a clue really, has he? Either that, or he's planning on staying around for the next 20 years!

Although he only had a short spell with us, I remember him in the Cup game at Gateshead and he was tremendous on the day.

It was a pointless Worcester News poll, and I too didn't realise that there was plenty of money available for an assistant manager either ! Presumably Anthony will be revisiting his end of season financial estimate ? Ok - perhaps not !

Fair point, in view of the firesale that took place earlier this year maybe the financial implications of this appointment could be spelled out officially by the club?

There are plenty of managers, assistant managers and players at this local football level who don't get paid. And it would be good news if the reality check had finally hit the Board that we are NOT a big club anymore. WCFC is really no bigger than Social Club based teams like Coventry Sphinx. That's not a bad thing, it's just a good sanity check to understand that that's where we are now, and will be for a fair amount of time moving forward. Maybe the Board will finally wake up to the reality that our 100+ year constitution is even further out of kilter with the position of the club now.

Also, Dudley's game this Saturday against Halesowen (K.O. 3pm) has been tr-arranged for 11 a.m. due to England playing......is there a plan for our game at Malvern to follow suit? Dodger.
