Whilst not without controversy in his past football dealings DH would be welcome if he can get rid of Hapless Hampson. In fact anyone would be welcome if they could achieve that. Oh and he can find the £500 or so to buy my shares he would be even more welcome!

What are his " past associations with Worcester City " then ? Nothing I can recall immediately springs to mind. Hampson would need to call an EGM, plus with any potential Worcs FA and Worcester City Council involvement in any potential move to PW, there will be plenty of questions to be asked.

He was manager of Newport County when they won the Conference South in 2010/11. I would imagine he can remember Shab Khan's two red cards against Newport that season.

One other thing.......the club isn't Hampson's or Wilcox's to handover. Doesn't the club belong to its shareholders ?

Why would anyone want to buy WCFC? For the assets? There aren't any. For the cudos? For the glamour? I suspect not. More nonsense could be heading our way.

I've an investment idea that might work. Get the football club to play at Parsonage Way, then run the club badly into debt, and then sell PW for housing.
I'm surprised we haven't tried that before !

Anything is better that what we have at the moment Yep. I don't think I have ever felt as deflated with City, as I have this week, when the Trust / Club failed to agree on an NDU. I hope the story is true, & Dean can help us.

" Holdsworth was involved in tabloid scandal in 1996 when he had a highly publicised extramarital affair with topless model Linsey Dawn McKenzie, who was then aged 17. In December 1999 he was sentenced to 18 months probation for punching his wife Samantha Holdsworth. "

Correct me if I’m wrong - a takeover in the conventional sense can’t happen with a massive cash injection in exchange for ownership and control due to the 1000 shares thing?

I think you are correct, it would mean a change in the ancient constitution. If that was to happen would it would open the door for a Community owned club?

If Abramovitch wanted to take us over some people would be complaining that he’s Russian. Surely in the current situation any tiny glimpse of light in this long dark tunnel is welcome even if nothing comes of it.

Hampson can't change the constitution without an EGM. An EGM would mean that he has to meet and speak to shareholders. Hampson only speaks ( for what his words are worth, which isn't a lot ) through the Worcester News. Hampson doesn't do AGM's / EGM's. Hence no EGM = no constitutional change = no takeover. Simple enough.

It's not negativity, it's a matter of examining a potential buyer's track record. If a couple of twins from East London claimed to be interested in investing in WCFC should we just roll out the red carpet without question?

Well you may have a point, we’ll just chose someone else from the big queue of people waiting to buy us shall we? Or maybe just stick with the Board we’ve got 🙄

We fans have been guilty of not asking enough questions - rather than asking too many. Why was an outsider like Hallmark running the (his) Nunnery Way project? Why was SGL sold for £3+ million when another developer had offered £10+ million? Why was Hampson parachuted in? Where the hell did he come from? And who nominated him?
Any decent decision should withstand scrutiny. Just accepting a situation because there's no apparent alternative is not a recipe for progress.

I remember the same negativity when Hughesy first came here, because of his past, didn’t work out too badly for us did it??? As far as I recall, Lee Hughes never had any intentions of taking over the business. He was a hired hand, like all players, here today, gone tomorrow (in Hughesy's case, he added a "back again the next day, but gone again after that") so his criminal record was simply a matter of historic fact which had no bearing on his job. Owning a business like a local community based football club, there comes moral responsibility and obligation, and one must question the intent of Mr Holdsworth here. As Lord Ealing says, as fans, we never ask enough questions. Sp he bankrupted his own company after defaulting on a high interest £5 million loan at Bolton, which ended up requiring payment of £7.5 million. There is talk about "0verseas investors" being involved. That raises more questions, and concerns. Why would overseas investors wish to "invest" in a football club at Step 9 of the pyramid, with no ground, no assets, and no money? Football is rife with these strange involvements from overseas, just ask Doncaster Rovers fans about the mysterious Belize based consortium who funded John Ryan! I agree that one should not look a gift horse in the mouth, but one must also be cautious of Greeks bearing gifts.
