All this forum talk over the past few years about setting up a new club ... yet not one of you has done anything to set up this new club ... Would you support a new club if it did happen downthelane?

We don't necessarily need a new club as Dean Holdsworth is coming along with 'oodles' of cash.......isn't he?
His investment should keep Hampson & co in the style thay are accustomed to........a few more years of cash squandering.

No because I don’t think it is a good idea, but others have so they can crack on, but if course they won’t cus it’s all just talk. You assume of course that work and advice has not been carried out in this area already.

True true lol
Well there we are as predicted by me and others at the outset this particular herring is vivid bright red and always was. Something flashy to take peoples eyes off the pathetic shabby volte face in respect of Perdiswell which has been proven to be the only viable, deliverable and popular location for a new ground.
It is hard to believe that anyone could honestly consider that backing Parsonage Herring over Perdiswell could ever possibly be in the best interests of the Club, company and supporters.
For the umpteenth time this Board led by The Chairman has failed all those who have City’s best interests at heart.

People how can you say Perdiswell is “deliverable” and “viable”.
Firstly it is owned by a council who do not want to lease it for use as a stadium.
Secondly the Trust cannot afford the costs of both project management and building a stadium.
And no there is no magic alternative.. The club is now a complete lost cause, in part due to bad decisions over many many years, and in part due to people who did care not pulling together in the same direction.

Why do you assume that the Perdiswell stadium is not affordable?

How was Parsonage Way deliverable and viable ? You answer that and you answer your above questions ! Let me help you........ - Parsonage Way council owned but as proved, site now un deliverable ! - Could the Club afford both project management and building a stadium ? probably with grants here and there...guess what Perdiswell could be done with Grants and the land already has things such as parking in place There is an alternative, there are two actually, wont be giving this Club up until its life support is pulled out of the wall neither will others still around

You require a willing landowner. The landowner is not willing (there are other plans for the land).
Yes grants are available. These are relatively limited though. Where’s the shortfall coming from? It won’t all be paid for via grant aid.

Also people will invest in a community project and not one run by Hampson and co.

It won’t all be paid for via grant aid. Football grants are limited, sports grants are also limited, but community grants are far less limited and do not require matched funding. The Business Plan does not show a shortfall

The Business Plan does not show a shortfall. That’s ok then, all is good in the world, I look forward to the opening match at Stadium Perdiswell.

It is ok, a lot of work went into talking to the right people to be able to present a Business Plan which shows a viable and deliverable solution. Without that, the Supporters Trust and the Football Club would not have proceeded with the planning application. Remember, the football club also advised and indeed validated the Business Plan. I am just surprised that you have made this assumption that there is a shortfall.

Same, and our wish has been granted - The city Council committee vote unanimously to accept the findings that no further work be undertaken to establish whether Parsonage Way is a suitable location for WCFC.
Of course Hampson told all of us that we MUST get behind Parsonage Way as it was the only option, and the report did say that the site could be made satisfactory for a football ground, so, come on Hampson, are you still backing it?

Commimtent from both sides to bring club back, brings up Perdiswell application. Practical and pragmatic to look at others sites (after Perdiswell). Cllr Gregson: It is with some regret that I agree this recommendation, I think it is the right thing to do.
I think this is a turning point as to what we can do for the football club.
Suggests a review of the Perdiswell proposals "if this has reached a dead end".
Insists "this is not the end of the road for the club".
No other councillors opt to speak and the motion proposed is unanimously passed.

Telling that only one Councillor Adrian Gregson spoke. The rest just voted it through Really - I thought that Jones, Mitchell or Laurenson would have had something to say (either in an official capacity if on the Committee or as interested parties) about this and what could happen?

Too busy thinking about what to say if the Planning Inspector approves the Perdiswell plans on appeal ?
In Mitchell's case, he might get asked to explain how he turned down the Perdiswell plans, when there were no valid planning reasons not to approve the plan, as already endorsed by Worcs City Council's own Planning Dept who recommended that the plans be approved !
If the appeal was successful, does Mitchell then attempt to appeal that decision, when there were no valid planning reasons to oppose it in the first place ? Will he risk wasting even more ratepayers cash on a frivolous appeal ?
Will Jones, Mitchell, and Laurenson go back to their voters, and tell them " we've done our best, we've looked at Parsonage Way, which cost 57 k to prove what everyone already knew, but it's that independent Inspector's fault " ?
Who knows the thinking at the Council ?

It is fairly clear that Worcester City Football Club has the support of the Labour party for a move to Perdiswell. Unfortunately the last time Labour were in control of Worcester City Council was back in 1999 when Labour was dominating national politics. Ever since, the Conservatives have held more seats than Labour and Labour have only led the Council with the support of other parties including the Greens, who are dead against Perdiswell too.
There are elections again in May 2019. The key target seats for Labour will be:
Cathedral Ward - Allah (Teflon) Ditta's seat - but this guy seems bullet proof despite his various misdemeanours and character flaws! The other two Cllrs in Cathedral are Labour though, so fingers crossed! St Clements Ward - Chris Mitchell (remember him) is up for re-election here (and I would LOVE IT Kevin Keegan style if he was toppled)
Other than these two seats, those up for election are relatively safe Tory territory. Mitchell and Ditta are the ones to target, particularly given Mitchell's role in refusing the Perdiswell application. If we can help shift that pair then Labour will have reached 17 seats, but 18 is the magical figure required to take control without reliance on others.
