Good luck Rob and everyone involved. I would have loved to come up for this - especially as it's being played in my fiefdom. However an idiot nephew of mine has decided to get married in Italy so will be away.
P.s. Claines Lane isn't actually in the city - but close enough.

Wherever it is, the idea is wonderful. It's a very moving idea to have a City side playing on sacred soil again.

Just wondering, As the S.T are the main promoters of the Raiders match...Will our 50% share of the match earnings go to Worcester City FC or Worcester City Supporters Trust?

Worcester City FC. Draw your own conclusions from that one. Shame that - would love to have gone - but not at the detriment of dropping coins into the bottomless secretive chasm of the "accounts" of Worcester City FC.

Bridges are never ever going to be built with that attitude You see that gap of 21 hours (and counting) with no one on here acknowledging you or your desperate attempts at stirring the pot? That proves that everyone on here considers you a lampoon and not worth the time of day to rise to your idiotic "inputs". As a consequence - I am delighted that you will never get what you want, and you will always be fizzing with impotent rage.

and who is looking to build bridges? You don't build bridges with those who stab you in the back, who say they want to work with you, and lie to you about their intentions. No, sorry but the time for building bridges has long since past, that ship has sailed into the sunset, along with any hope, or even any interest, in saving this present incarnation of a football club.

Some dilemmas then........... Do we attend and put money into WCFC as it plunges ever nearer the precipice of oblivion? Do we attend and put money into WCFC in the belief that the longer it keeps going, the better chances there are that the ST vision will become a reality? Do we attend and put money into the Raiders coffers as they might well be the club to latch on to once WCFC is no more (cuts out all that phoenix club decision making)? Do we attend in numbers to show Worcester Council and Worcester citizens that there is appetite for watching WCFC in Worcester (albeit Claines )? Do we attend in numbers thus allowing the Perdiswell 'nimbys' ammunition should parking around Claines Lane cause congestion along the A38 and surrounding residential roads? Hmmmmm Dodger.

This game was suggested by the Supporters' Trust following Snapper's talk at the fans forum. Great opportunity to send a reminder to local councillors that we should be back in the city permanently. In terms of money on the day gate takings minus expenses split 50/50 between Raiders and WCFC, bar takings to Raiders. Proceeds from raffles go to Trust and there'll be a half time draw and 'guess the crowd ', both with cash prizes. Fans can join the Trust on the night, if you're not sure if you are still a member PM me and I'll check.
Hopefully see you in the Guildhall on Thursday too.
Up the City!

So basically, if you feel comfortable gifting money to the football club, then by all means go along. If however, you feel uneasy simply handing over money to this Board of Directors, then think about going after half time, and you'll get in for free, then you can buy raffle tickets etc. to benefit the Trust.

Those who were at the Trust forum, and read the story in the WN, will know how I feel about the situation. However I challenged Dave Wood about his decision to have a meeting with the board, and he gave a reasonable and heartfelt answer, and also gave himself a month to persuade the board that making the WCFC into a community club is the right thing to do, before finally giving up on them. So I will support him and the Trust board with some help for another month to see what happens. We´ve been fighting this battle for so long that I feel it would be churlish to give up before we have had the final decision on Perdiswell, and Dave has given it one last go with the board. If it all goes tits up with the board, as I fully expect it will, then I will have given the board a half of a fiver I didn´t really want them to have, but if it works then no one will be happier than me.

The reality is that the club in its present guise can no longer function as a Ltd. company or a Community owned company. Unfortunately it doesn't matter how heartfelt the reasoning is, this has got to come from the head! It really doesn't matter how much love and passion you have for a three legged greyhound, you can change ownership, change its food, change its training regime, but it'll never grow another leg. There are reasons why the club is playing local park football this season, there are reasons why they chose to. Dave Wood can have as many meetings with the Board as he likes, it'll just do what its always done, buy them time, in this case, at least another month. The Board are selective about who they will meet with from the Trust. And Dave said that two weeks ago, so I would imagine that they are now at high level discussion regarding constitution change that all can agree with by now, aren't they? Oh hang on, the Board are presently inquorate, so they are not even able to hold general meetings. My position is also very clear on this, I won't put a penny into the clubs coffers, it won't be going into playing matters, it'll probably follow the twelve grand that went to solicitors to manage the last EGM! And I make no exceptions to that. Perdiswell is a completely separate matter.

I admire Dave and others for being optimistic about dealing with Hampton and co, but I'm afraid it's misplaced. They won't change. They'll only let go when every last asset has been siphoned off.

But there are no assets. The asset was the ground, that went years ago.

downthelane - it's nice to see that you're still bathing in ignorance !
Cash at bank and in hand is considered a " current asset ". One that has dwindled rapidly under the chairmanship of your chum Mr Hampson. No doubt at the re-arranged AGM, Anthony will be providing details of how much there remains to be squandered !

Even the club aren't that interested in this game, this is what John Snape says in the worcester News.
“Obviously it is the middle game in a five-day period of three matches so we are going to go with a mixed team,” Snape said.
“I think everybody is hoping for a big turnout but that’s not the idea of the game.
"The match is to help with the fitness of both sides to get ready for the start of the season. It will be a fitness exercise."
Actually that is the idea of the game.
I feel sorry for people who are going to be turning up to watch a fitness exercise instead of a football match. There's a big picture here Mr Snape, and you and the rest of the club have chosen to miss it.

I moved from Worcester (Northwick Close - in Claines ward)in 1984, and it was defo in ST Stephens ward then. Sadly I have not kept up with the boundry charges. I am however surprised that all of "Perdiswell Park" - which runs along Bilford Road is now all in Claines ward now. I'm "back home" next month in the Faithful city, so I'll pop along to Perdiswell and have a look for myself to see what all this "fuss" is about.
