Jamie Smith has agreed to return to the club for the 2017/2018 season. Jamie progressed through the City youth academy and was brought into the first team squad by then manager, Carl Heeley. A stunning free kick goal vs Boston United in a 2 v 1 win at Aggborough in the 2015 / 2016 season wowed the City faithful. Jamie did sign for the 2016/2017 season but went out on loan at Mark Owen's, Droitwich Spa FC where he enjoyed a successful season playing 35 games grabbing himself 4 goals and 18 assists. On speaking to Smith following his return he said, "I feel privileged and excited to be back and playing for my hometown club" Joint Managers, John Snape and Lee Hughes "cannot wait to work with Jamie again for the coming season, a player we know well and with a bright future ahead of him".
