As reported by DJ, that well-known Hinckley fan ...
Gez Murphy "got injured in a one-on-one with Scott Bevan today (Saturday 4th August) against Kidderminster. Bevan didn't mean anything nasty just caught Murphy on his knee when he slid through the ball. Murphy went to the floor immediatley not moving and after physio plus doctor had been on, he had to be stretchered off the pitch in a leg splint. The doctor believes that it is not broken outright, but possibly a small fracture. The true extent of the injury is not yet known, but could be up to 2 months if is as bad as it looked.
So that means Leon Kelly suspended for two months and Gez Murphy injured for two months (plus?). At least we know who will be starting up front for Hinckley next week, we've only got 2 strikers left... "
Striking differences from last year surrounding the injury, but another tough blow for a CN striker on the last Saturday before the season proper.

just wondering what its 'shades of' and why you say there are striking differences from last year surrounding the injury, as if you are aware of something that happened last year. Sorry but your post though informative makes no sense.

A CN striker injured in the last friendly before the season starts playing against Kidderminster Harriers.
Try that for a clue! ;-)
Here's a clue as to the difference as to the events surrounding the injury. This time it was not so striking.

Oh I see, you're just stirring up a bit of s*** there. A player gets injured in a game and you try and relate this to Webby getting iinjured. How small minded.

Andy - forget it ! I agree. The City v Kiddy game is history. Injuries happen, always have, always will. As far as I know, the referee is the sole judge of whether they are accidental or not, and the referee did not award a foul when Webster was injured. Simple as that.

I wasnt stirring any sh*t. I just said that a CN striker got a bad injury playing in the last pre-season friendly against Kidderminster. That is the relation to Webster.
Show me where the evidence of the spoon, please!!
So far, and in the space of a month, you've called me a tw*t and small-minded. Nice one, fella. Good to make friends, isnt it.

Try 'Shades of' as the title. I'm sure plenty of other strikers have got bad injuries in pre-season friendlies yet you haven't seen fit to comment on them. There's actually no 'shades of' anything here, just another injury, they happen as Alwaysnextyear points out. There's no link of any kind here so why try to make one? Yes it is good to make friends and the good thing about friends is you can choose them. Sorry if I don't choose you.

Terrific. The season hasn't even started yet - and we're already falling out with each other.
I might as well join in.

Do you always see life in such black and white? No, but when you see people like you being mischeivous in their postings you can see why Andy Morrison made the comments that he did about cancers on the internet. You know damn well when you posted that you were trying t ocreate a link between two unrelated injuries. there was no need to post on it, other than to bring back memories of Webbys injury, and get ther Kiddy knockers going, possibly get a couple of postings from kiddy fans fanning the flames too. Just let it go Mr Andy and get on with the new season and supporting our promotion bid. Thats what matters and not raking up the past, or are we also going to be raking up incidents involving Tamworth and Andy Ellis too? Good job Gloucester City arent in our league, we wouldn't want any repeats of the Wright/ Tuohy elbow incident would we? Just let it go.

First of all, OB, you chose to pose an interpretation on my post that was incorrect - I know what I meant. When I inform you that your interpretation was not what I was meaning, you insist that you are right and you persist - for the third or fourth time, in telling me that I really meant something else. You also resort to abuse.
Yes, I was making a link with Webster picking up an injury in the final friendly of the season against Kiddy Harriers, because Gez Murphy has also. End of, as far as the original post goes.
Had I wanted to do what you imply, I would have headed the post something like 'Kiddy do it again', and quoted Simon's post off the Hinckley Message Board. You will perhaps take note that I didnt, and in fact did the exact opposite, first because that wasnt my point and second because DJ states that Bevan did not do anything nasty.
You are now suggesting that I intend to deliberately inflame Kiddy fans.
I hope you can see the differences in all this, and work out where they are coming from.

Okay, so actually you are posting to let people know about two unrelated and unlinked events that are strikingly different, the only thing in common being they are friendlies against Kiddy Harriers. Well thanks for that. So can you explain what you mean by
'Here's a clue as to the difference as to the events surrounding the injury. This time it was not so striking.' What do you mean by 'not so striking?'

What sort of comment is that? Do you expect us all to like cake? What sort of cake? And what about trifle?

I like Jaffa Biscuits, or is it Cake? Interesting... Apparently because "Biscuits and cakes are considered a necessity by UK law and are zero rated. Chocolate-covered biscuits however are a luxury and subject to VAT at 17.5%. McVities and HM Customs & Excise2 argued over whether the Jaffa Cake was a cake (no VAT) or a chocolate biscuit (lots of VAT)." the tax man wanted to charge VAT on Jaffa "cakes". McVitties argued that the difference between a cake and a biscuit is that a cake hardens when it goes stale but a biscuit softens. Jaffa cakes are therefore not charged the extra. The above may or may not be actually true but I like the story
