That is very kind Ian. There's no disrespect whatsoever for the MFL.
Just sheer desperation at our club's plight and downfall.

The one or two calling it Sunday pub football are very much mistaken. The WCFC board have dragged us down financially but the truth is we need to perform on the pitch at a level we can afford and at the moment we may struggle to meet MPL standards on and off the pitch. This is our chance to rise above the underhanded dealings behind the scenes and build for the future.Look forward to enjoying your hospitality.

I refereed on the equivalent of the MFL back in the day (the MFA/West Mids) and found the clubs to be enjoyable places to be, run by good people.
You need to give us time to adjust what today was dumped on us.

alright peeps, been a while since I was on here last. nearly 5 years since we left you behind and let our club die, having to start again in the MFL 1
pros and cons of all leagues and dropping out of conf north and rocking up in places that feel like a field with a rope around is going to be a massive shock. but the fans at this level are a lot friendlier than say your Salfords or Stuckports, and the football clubs will be happy to welcome you in, mainly as drinking pitch side is allowed at this level, and like we found out at Hinckley, clubs will only be too happy to keep you supplied.
Like I say, you're all still in the shock stage, but it's going to worse before it gets better, as you're about to find out the first fixture of the season is the FA Cup on August 5th.

Another kick in the nuts right there lol So we will have friendlies then potentially be out the FA Cup before September

The standard last season gone was very good. According to one guy who has been watching Boldmere for the last 20 seasons never higher ! It should be noted the promoted teams have always done well at the next division up with no real issues. People will be shocked as Hereford were at the quality and just how tough it will be to get out especially with how it stands just one up (but could be two).

oh you have very good reasons to be that. Once you lose control of your home ground I am afraid the inevitable will happen.

I'm over the shock: it was half-expected (and widely rumoured) anyway. As long as there is a team bearing the name Worcester City FC and running around in blue and white stripes then I shall be there, at whatever level.
I started supporting City in the 1956/57 season and I ain't gonna stop now!
Watched Bromsgrove last year in MFL1 (against whom we shall have the ultimate local derby next season) and was quite impressed with the standard of football: if I recall I couldn't see any discernible difference the next week when I watched City.

Disagree Tim. Bromsgrove played much better as a whole team, using midfield and creating many chances, scoring more often than not. I genuinely believe that anytime in 2017, if City played Bromsgrove, we would have lost.

You might be right! Any team that scores 100 goals and goes unbeaten a whole season, at whatever level, must be exceptional. The player that caught my eye was that little terrier Jason Cowley, and if memory serves me right shortly afterwards they put him on a contract.

Yeah I think he's the only one on a contract. He even made it on Soccer AM Soccer AM

I cannot believe that people think that there is hardly a difference between step 2 and step 5 in non League Football. Teams tend to be in their Divisions / Levels for a reason. Yes, there will be good teams in any division but they can only be measured by the opposition they play against.
A quick rule of thumb using Mike Symons. Centre forward Symmo was a trier for us, could last 70 minutes, but he could hardly score at NN Step 2, when he had some very good players alongside him and when we went and won at Coventry, drew with Scunthorpe etc.
Two years older and slower, he drops to Step 5 ( via Gloucester ) which was well below his level and bangs them in playing for a big budget side at that level, which he continued in Step 4. Point proven ?

Not really.
Simmo was top scorer in each of his first two seasons here.
In 14/15 he scored the same number of league goals as Nti. Yes, he wasn't anything like he was in his first two seasons admittedly.
It may be that he's rediscovered his best form at Hereford, or is playing alongside better players than he was here. I don't know.
Of course the standard won't be as good as at step 2. But how different? We won't know unless and until we see for ourselves.

I was just making the point that of course the standard won't be as good as at step 2, which jupu agrees with. Whatever level of football can only be measured against their opposition. Simmo naturally finds it easier to score goals lower down. That's to be expected.
That's not to say that the games won't be entertaining, full of endeavour, full of goals and all things good about football. It'll just be different to what we've been used to.

I imagine the difference will be enormous. I find the difference between the National league and the North/South is huge and that's only one "step".Will be interesting for me to see how the four promoted clubs fare in the National next season particularly Fylde

I watch bamber bridge quite a lot and they are only one league above and tbh there isn't a big difference overall just some players tend to stand out more than others

Surprising how many people are gilding the lily by making out our new league is one of real quality. `Be nice to Boldmere` may be the new mantra but by any standard, the football stinks. And as for `I`ll watch the City whatever league we play in` that attitude is exactly how we got here in the first place !
