I'm going for an entertaining 2-2.
Danks and Webster to score.
Crowd of 952.

I'm going to try to restrain myself on predictions this year, and just see how things go on the day.

Well, my prediction is going against the grain a little.
We have scored only 1 goal in each of the 3 opening season games since joining the CN.

I saw us win 1-0 at Barrow in last year's opener.
Year before, we got beat 2-1 at Kettering.
What was it the first time round?

1-1 against Hinckley, wasnt it? We scored after about 5 minutes. Is that the one?

Three each
Crowd 888
Formation 333 (only 9 fit players)
It was 2-2 last year and a good match.

Two nil up with ten minutes to go, then a series of injuries forces AP to bring on - me; TW Dragonstander and Georgie Dragon to form new back line. 2-5 final score.

Sadly I put a fiver on 3-1 to City a few weeks back, so I'd better stick with that.

It will be 2-1 to the City, Danks and Burley, att 952, AND lots of empty drinks cans left all around the ground, including the ones a few feet from the dust bins; but not to worry, somebody will clean it up.

No way there'll be 952 in there! & have WCFC never heard of recycling bins?! 1-1 draw;as much down to injuries......

many grounds have no bins at all as they are often big and bulky and take a bit of emptying, which can be a health and safety issue. These grounds positively encourage fans to drop litter straight onto the floor so it can all be swept up together. League grounds also had problems with bins being either vandalised or thrown around. I was chattingt osomeone on the Brookside a few years back about a couple of kids rocking one of the big blue bins and thinking about how heavy they were. Whether you agree with it or not, but if a bin had fallen over and hurt one of the young boys, even killed him, then the club would have been in a lot of trouble financially. Maybe bins at sports grounds arent the greatest ideas, and they are a relatively new thing at St Georges Lane too of course. For many many years we survived without them. Mr Layland, I also hate the way people of all ages litter the streets when ther are plenty of bins within touching distance. Oh and 1-1 or 0-0 in an uninspiring typical beginning of thr season game, but still a reasonable point and a chance for Andy to see what needs doing in a competitive situation. I won't be there unfortunately as I'm off on my summer holidays.

0.0. I'll be happy with a point for the first game. I don't think pre-season has gone well enough to have settled the very small squad of players in, especially with the injury situation.

Anything but a defeat first game. Hyde had some good players. I dont know what changes there have been to their squad but I imagine their key players are still there and that means a real test for our new defensive blend.
