As i said, some players will be on more than others. That's football life, and it depends who they are, It depends where they've come from, and what their reasons for joining are. Most of the players signed have been from a similar level club or lower, and it puts them in the shop window a bit more. For players stepping up from level 6, most of them will have been on £ 20 to £ 30 a week expenses, some maybe nothing. Doubling it to £ 50/£ 60 a week, at a bigger name club sounds pretty attractive to me. What's wrong with say, 4 players/managers x £ 150 = £ 600 2 players x £ 100 = £ 200 15 players x £ 80 = £ 1,200 Total £ 2,000 Something similar wouldn't be too far off ? That's a very reasonable wage structure you've put forward, however if this lad from Westfields has gone from £30 a week expenses (which is what the article alludes to) to £140 a week, surely those dropping down divisions are going to be on more than this lad? I appreciate it's all second guesses but despite being local lads these guys aren't playing for City out of the goodness of their heart. Also I can't imagine the club or the player being overly happy his weekly wage has been leaked to the press. Makes it harder to negotiate with potential new players but also might cause dressing room unrest.

jupu - the new finance guy is a long standing fan of the club, his surname is Jones ( i can't remember his first name ) who is a qualified accountant, and he's a friend of John Jordan, and who does it for free. I understand that he instantly started producing up to date and timely financial data and cash flows ( rather than just signed the cheques ), presented them to the Board in very matter of fact terms, in a very professional manner, which I understand that the Board were certainly not used to. The Board had taken a very lax approach to the finances, just spending without thinking, with an indifference to financial management. Presented with the real up to date situation, the Board " s*** itself " ( is how it was described to me ) and went on the instant cost cutting spree, allied to a unpublicised wish to be demoted based on future affordability.
dcx - I wouldn't worry about it. Players wages have always been a thing of speculation and rumour, and those clubs who City have apparently outbid, will always quote something and add on a bit, if only to say to their fans, we're trying to get these players as well, but were unlucky. Most players know their worth, and some will try it on, but generally at step 5, the wages are all relative. Like every football changing room in the country, some will get more, some will get less. It's up to players to prove that they are worth more.

It just gets better. We were in this terrible mess and the board didn't know?(or didn't want to know)?I think they should be incredibly grateful that anyone is still prepared to help fund them. Here's one that isn't though, and I suspect there will be more.

Thank you, I don't know Mr Jones, maybe other fans do if he's a longstanding supporter. It sounds like such an appointment was long overdue. As far as I'm aware this is the first time it's been reported to fans and shareholders?

Every month I asked for management accounts to be presented to the Board, and every month there was a reason why not, or no response at all. Another reason why I had no choice but to stand down from the Board. And you really believe that the auditor resigned because they don't want to do auditing any more?

Who ?
I certainly don't believe it !
Don't worry, Hampson is re-arranging the 2016 AGM where he will reveal all about the 155 k loss, and the estimated loss ( 250 k ? ) for 2017. Honest...........

The overspending from the time of Lancaster & Boddy onwards wasn't simply incompetence. By creating a massive debt they could justify selling SGL. Why were they so against the Legends Bar; The Big Match and other schemes? Because they made a profit. Profitable trading was not the aim.

I think we should remove the word "finances" from the title of this thread 💙
