Can you explain what you mean Barney? 'willing to put the club first and not meeting their own ends?' Can you give us some idea of where this new blood is? or are you just another troublemaker looking for a flame war?

ohhhhhhhhh why are we still backing the board? ?? isn't time we had some one new at the top who is willing to put the club first and not meeting there own ends. Your comment is scandalous. The chairman most definitely does put the club first. Either justify your comment (surely impossible) or withdraw it.

Absolutely right Kieron. The comment is libelous and without justification. I may not currently have belief in the board's ability to deliver a new stadium in time, but I am certain that they are acting in the interests of the club and not "meeting their own ends."
Barney be very careful, defamation can be a costly habit. Justify or withdraw.

Absolutely CG. The best way to avoid a flame war is not take part.

Barney, I trust you have some evidence to back up your claims.

How do you know he isn't a supporter of the club or. for that matter. a board member engaging in a bit of reverse spin, Carsten? And who says you HAVE to be a WCFC fan to post on this board? Rival fans do so sometimes and very informative it is, too.
As for deletion - isn't that just censorship? I thought this MB was about opinion not mere fact. If Barney has a true beef he will reply and attempt to back up his ludicrous claims. My bet is he won't.
Sadly, though, I suspect his posting rather reflects a widely held view of football directors the length and breadth of Britain.

sorry cg, yes he should certainly be able to reply, but if he doesnt then delete him and his post as I doubt what he says is even his opinion. If hes a board member engaging in reverse spin then hes just a sad flamer and people like that really are cancers on the internet. My point is this, his post serves no purpose, its not even debatable Its just rubbish.

Carsten, you are missing the point. Just because me, three and others don't agree with his point does that mean it should be deleted? If I criticise, say, a City player for having a crap game will that be deleted too? It is called opinion - rubbish or not (mind you, I'm sure I saw DB roll up in Bentley and lighting cigars with £50 notes the other day so....)
From memory - I don't know it has been removed now - Barney's posting was last night - they haven't had enough time to reply to the condemnation so to assume they won't is wrong.
Point is, there might come a stage in the future when supporters will want to seriously debate boardroom misdemeanors. It has happened at plenty of other clubs - eg today Cambridge City have won a court case and the right to stay at their ground after the previous board and property company tried to sell them down the river - so keeping dialogue open is important. If not, I'm outta here.

Point taken Carsten - believe it or not I prefer to concentrate on the footy too - and I do think Barney (s/he) is/was talking rubbish but in some respects I think they have won because although their views border on the libelous (and as a journalist I know where the lines stand and he was just t'other side) I think actually banning controversial postings is the wrong road to go down. We've seen it with KAFTAB and others and this MB is the poorer for lack of geunuine debate.
Yes some board members read this MB - but I'm sure they are worldly-wise enough to know which make sense and are well-informed and which aren't.
I did say he's winding you all up - and he has suceeded.

I hope that before a brick has been laid, there will be a fans forum so that some of the things mentioned last saturday can be looked at and perhaps included ie catering, club house facilities, toilets etc.

Where's the money going ? Paying inflated transfer fees for, plus excessive wages and travel expenses to mediocre players based in Sheffield,Leicester, Manchester and all points north of Birmingham is my guess ! There cannot be another club in our League whose players live so far away from their home ground. The non league footballer is no different to any other - they go where the money is, and the gravy train is seen to stop at SGL most seasons. I could be wrong and maybe the players just like driving !

The reason given is always that we play in a Northern League, well so do Solihull moors and redditch and Hinkley amd Nuneaton who dont seem to buy players from so far away. Its a good point about expenses, it cant be cheap paying player exepnses for individual 200 mile round trips per player per home game.

I would think that it's a case of car sharing. For example I would imagine that Burley, Nwadike, Clarke and possibly Chris Smith travel down together.
