Overwhelmed by the love for Aggborough here. What a grateful bunch! I expect if you ever get a new ground it will ooze character and not be an identikit type affair.

I am all for change but can't imagine any "Bromsgrove Bap" will come close to the cottage pies at Aggborough. The only good thing going for Kiddy. I thought the Kiddi pie caterer people were portable to some degree? When there isn't a game on at Aggborough they might be interested in setting up at the VG? You will have to run it pass Prescott first. ?

There's an excellent snack bar at the VG, at the town end of the bar/function room complex. Chips, sausages, burgers, pies, choccy bars, hot and cold drinks. No Cottage Pie a la Aggborough, but the Balti Pie is gorgeous.

I have recently browsed the Bromsgrove Sporting forum and under a heading of " Safety Certificate "- the ground capacity is shown as 1250. The club will need to make the Kidderminster Harriers game all ticket, as well any game with large away support or any big cup games. Any news on the parking arrangement the club was trying to sort out ? .

I went over to the VG last week to do a parking reccy for a blue badge holder. I met one of The Sporting directors in the car park who was most helpful and welcoming. There's a lot of work been done around the ground , and still being done. Not long now.

Nearly 400 seats in the main stand, and I believe the away end is 700, how on earth is the rest able to hold just a couple of hundred? It'll be higher than that surely.

Just check the Ground Grading rules for our league, under section 1.3. - Capacity. "The Stadium must have a minimum capacity of 3,000 calculated by a competent person in accordance with the guidance given in the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds (Green Guide). There must also be potential to increase the capacity to 4,000 in the future and a Club must, by the 31st March following the date of inspection, demonstrate how this capacity can be achieved."

The Safety Certificate on the Forum is for BROMSGROVE. WCFC has a slightly increased Certificate based on the knowledge of the Safety Team (nobody comment on that ;-p).
We are also looking at increasing the capacity further with the relevant works that are being undertaken to the VG. Crush Barriers and Hatched Lines will all count towards the capacity being increased, also stewarding numbers.
A document was provided to the FA with the figures undertaken by a "competent" person showing that we could reach the min of 3K with such works being undertaken etc etc. This was accepted and passed by the FA and Conference.
Of course it will take time to increase the capacity and any large capacity games prior to the increase will need tickets. Looking at our figures for the previous seasons FC United had the largest following of 512 with others such as Nuneaton, Telford, Gloucester, Solihull and Stockport bringing between 100 and 200.
The only games I can see, that would require tickets are Kidderminster and FC United.

The club will be told that the below are potential segregated games, I must stress these are not yet confirmed and will depend on the fixture list and also if there is anything riding on the game such as promotion or relegation (in Kiddy's case) I think everyone should be giving a huge thanks to Kev and Mike for all of the sterling work they have done. It's a good job they just get on with it and aren't hiding.

Cheers Rich. Will not be thanked by many !
Note I have removed the last paragraph of my post....realised that I had half deleted / posted that paragraph. Segregated games will be confirmed when fixtures are released.

As City were away last Saturday I took grandson Jack to Bromgsgrove to watch the top of the table clash with Leicester Road (who seem to be some sort of re-incarnation of Hinckley). Sporting won 1-0 and missed a penalty.
Attendance: 875 (Boosted by sale of Vase tickets for next week's game against Bristol Manor Farm?) Half-time draw prize: £186 Atmosphere : terrific Segregation: none No behind goal being attacked by home side: 200-300 Marks out of 10: 9
Particularly impressed by Sporting's No 9 - Jason Cowley (on loan from Redditch), who never gave up running from first to last and was a constant thorn in the opposition's side. Small, but an absolute terrier. Also their No 4 (Ahmed Ali) looked as if he should be playing at a higher level. All in all a good afternoon out despite the cold. I think they'd give City a run for their money.

Is there any change to capacity, now we are lower down?. I assume it will be the same as Bromsgrove now?. Also can drinks be brought into the terraces now?

No change because weve gone down, thats good news for Boxing Day and NYD against Bromsgrove. Drinking, we have agreed drinking on the terraces will be allowed (first time ij many years), however it will ONLY be allowed in plastics, bottles and glasses will not be allowed out of the social club. I will announce this via website. We must make it clear that this does NOT cover FA Competitions, as we are/were on those competitions

Thanks Verner. I was also talking to a Bromsgrove fan who said that Bromsgrove got into trouble for not knowing how many were in the ground and had too few stewards. So this season everyone has to go through the turnstiles which will have digital counters?
