Who stole the stripes off the back of the shirts?

I may be wrong here but I always thought that team kits should be the same front and back?

So theres nothing stopping a team playing in a red front and a blue back?

I may be wrong here but I always thought that team kits should be the same front and back? You're wrong. Reading had a plain back on their shirts last season.

It's so wrong.
It's not natural.

It was an enjoyable match. Everyone got a run about apart from the injured ones - Nic and Shaun
I was impressed by Ryan Clark and Troy most of all. There was a blond lad with no number who was pretty good. Everyone worked well and I was pleased with their perfomance. The goalie, Cameron B? has an excellent goal kicks, very accurate and quick to distribute. The Cameron in defence worked well and had a very scarey shout. In fact all the trialists worked hard.
Young Craig is such a lovely lad, I cannot understand how he ever played with those thugs at Redditch and Stafford.
I think the only disappointment apart from AP having to come on!! was Mark Danks still will not share the ball.
Were we the only ones to get sunburnt???

No, I burned at our presentation day. Face of a lobster this morning.

That didn't look great, I meant the colour of a lobster.

VERY early days yesterday, and so no mountains being made out of molehills. But because it was the first game of the summer, one can also draw some positives from what was good. First of all, the strikers all looked sharp in front of goal - Troy's goal was excellently taken. As has already been said, Webby looked a lot closer to his old self.
The new boys. Emeka looks just what we need in midfield. A player who is going to break up opposition moves. OK, getting the second phase will be important, but when he had some control after his 'break up' intervention, his distribution looked simple yet solid. He will also be a handful to the opposition at attacking set-pieces.
Rapinder Gill looks very comfortable on the ball - confident in playing the ball out of defence. And pacey in his covering as well.
Ryan Clarke showed a strong willingness to do the line (forward and back) as a wing-back must, and both he and Burlo were appearing in advanced wide positions.
I'm not going to comment on every player, as it is too early, yet some promising signs emerged.
On the down side, Nic Colley was saying he has a need for another operation, and would probably be out for another 3-4 weeks (MAYBE ready for Hyde is my own interpretation). With Shaun also struggling for fitness, we are left light in midfield in numbers, and so we can probably expect a continuation of the 3-5-2 (though that may also be the formation of choice, though AP has also hinted at playing three up-front). That is how we lined up yesterday, with Shabs on the left of the back three, and with Cleggy on the left of the midfield core.
Bascially, we started (from right to left)
Keeper
Smudger, Rapid, Shabs
(Clarke and Burlo as wing backs)
Wardy, Emeka, Clegg
Danks, Wilding
What that does mean is some significant changes in the supply lines to the forwards (with three new players in midfield positions), and I'm interested to see how those work once they've had the opportunity to spend another 3-4 weeks working on them.

spot on Andy in your assessment, as you say very early days but the signs are good. When I was told Emeka is a ball winner I thought he would be in the Snapper mould but based on yesterday I would say he reminds me more of Momo Sissoco (Liverpool) in his style of play. Was that you administering first aid over the barrier yesterday? the unorthodox way that the poor chap was being carried off he reminded me of one of your blanket donations

As someone said last Thursday the pitch looks so good it's a pity to spoil it by playing football on it.

No chance of that Tim. You should know better after so many years of supporting City!
