more good news as Clarke is unveiled. www.worcestercityfc.co.uk/NewsItem.aspx?nid=310I have to say that personally I cant wait now for the season to get underway, I haven't really enjoyed the conf North as much as the Dr Martens league until now that is. The quality of the teams in the league this season will make for some great matches and with the cracking signings of Clarke, Gill and Nwadike we have strengthened an already good squad. Game on PS there will be some photos from training on the site tomorrow.

Good news Wayne. Agreed, three very impressive signings.

I also like the way the new signings have been completed by this stage of pre-season. Good gelling opportunities during the summer months ahead of the first competitive game.
Welcome on board, Ryan.

Is this the start of a more attack minded campaign? Three new players who are comfortable on the ball and like moving forward? Link these with Smith and Burley and we have one of the most mobile, fittest and flexible units I can remember. If they gel and cover for each other it makes tactical talk of 4-3-3 5-2-3 etc irrelevant.
Let's pray for an injury (and incident) free pre-season.
Could a line up be: Danny; Clarke, Smith, Rapid; Nick, Emeka, Clegg, Burley; Webster, Danks, Wilding?
I'm not sure about playing all three strikers, and definitely not if Danks ended up on the wing - but it would push opponents onto their back foot from the kick off. Interesting times.

With Danny H and Shabs as potential central defenders, and with Ryan clearly able to play there, the main feature of this squad appears to be versatility of the starting eleven and formation.
While Ealing has suggested a starting line-up, I wouldnt imagine that the intention of the signing of Clarke would be to displace Wardy onto the subs bench.

"While Ealing has suggested a starting line-up" Exactly Andy, only a suggestion and there are numerous permutations with this squad - which has to be a plus. Do I sense a severe case of building anticipation on my part?

What do you think, Gobby? The pitch looks good! I will reserve judgement til I see him in the flesh. If I can be bothered to come and be smoked over! Of course I could stand by the dug outs and tell AP to his face what I think of his tactics etc. Save me having to shout it across the pitch!

I go away for a few days and by the time I get back all the pieces are in place.
Looking very promising ... could this be the best squad of players we've ever ... ARRRRGH!

GC - you were smoked over last season and didn't complain (leastways I don't remember it) so what's the difference? Don't tell me your enthusiasm is waning! Why not come and stand in front of the main stand - it's a no smoking area!
As for those training pictures, well I'm sure at least one of the players is Ralph Puncheon. He must be nearly as old as me by now.

He must be nearly as old as me by now. Luckily for me Tim, most people near me dont smoke. I have to move if they do. Mr T has to stand next to them! I dont go anywhere that I am likely to be smoked on as it makes me ill. I am quite looking forward to being able to vent my spleen at Ap close up!! The minority of supporters smoke, their smoke will affect the players and stewards. They are employees of the club and not forgetting the officials. The club is breaking the law. It is about time this club came into the 21st century and banned smoking and realised that womenkind is the superior race!! Oh yes and AP should ask me about is he still the "best" as I will tell him the truth rather than lie like Jock!!

I have been studying young Ryan's photo - I am bored today. He looks rather sweet, but I have several favourites already - can my heart cope with anymore!
