• At his first press conference, new owner Chuck Norris waives away the offer of tea and instead pours himself a pint of petrol. Sitting, with Dave Boddy and Andy Preece literally crapping themselves either side of him, he announces his Zero Tolerance policy. He says he will not employ a goalkeeper because he doesn’t believe in them. Any team that needs a goalkeeper is a “faggoty team,” he declares. Instead he will enforce the extra man up front. He continues by saying that he has just finished building the new striker, the THX-1178-GoalPoacher 3000. Strangely enough I had my first City dream of this forthcoming season last night. We were playing Gainsborough at home and it was all out attack. Danny Hodnett carried the ball right up to a packed penalty area, he was dispossessed and a quick breakaway on the right saw a Trinity player fire into the net from the halfway line. There was no keeper to stop the shot, and we lost 1-0. |

"...and we lost 1-0." We're rubbish! No keeper!?! And what was Hodnett doing FFS? Time for changes and NOW before it's too late!

Has anyone else spotted the seasonality about the posts on the message board and predecessors?
Pre season ; optimism tempered by it'll never happen type posts.
Early matches ; So and So looks good we were a bit unlucky, the new Messiah
10 games or so; Doing Ok but just lost at home - why do this? , the wrong formation, Clegg,
15 games or so; City out of the Cup or similar - Ground move, financial, Danny not as good as last season
Christmas; Postponed match - So & So should be ditched. Injuries, suspensions
New year ; Prospects for achieving just over 3 points per match to achieve an unlikely 13th position dissected, Barry Williams
Mid Feb to mid March; Analysis of run in, tactical debate, red herrings, frustration and spat dummies
April 1 - Radiators
End April - no postings at all especially lack of topics headed "Who is going to Burton?" "Play offs at last"
Perhaps everything is all linked to phases of the Mooney?

Spot on BDS. I've also noticed the following postings pattern:
Pre-season: we'll be rubbish.
Early season: we are rubbish.
Mid -season: well at least it can't get worse!
End of season: oh bugger!
