Thanks Andy for your sarcastic answers to a genuine question - t**t And if you think I'm reading through 40 odd match reports in which Clarke may or may not have scored, then sorry but unlike you I have a life. If this guy can score goals on a regular basis from a wingback or fullback position and still do the up and down job then he deserves to be playing at a higher level of football than Blue Square level, and Alfretons high compensation figure is probably well justified. Sounds like they want to get him back under contract and sell on. More to the point, if he's this good, then why aren't the board backing Andy Preece in getting this kind of player in so we can sell him on?

Funilly enough I havent watched tha last 91 games Alfreton have played. If you're so interested in the answer (which you seem to be), what is wrong in me suggesting you do it yourself? T**t.

Here you go. 12 minutes of my time to answer your question.
v Hyde Steve Melton did have to produce a superb block deep in the area to stop Gareth Seddon's shot reaching goal on six minutes but a minute later Alfreton were ahead from the game's first corner. A short routine ended with Marcus Ebdon's deep cross to the far post being met by the rising RYAN CLARKE and his firm downward header back across goal nestled inside the far post.
v Barrow The all important goal came on 70 minutes from the sixth corner kick won during the half. Burbeary’s precise flag kick was met by Ryan Clarke who climbed highest to send a thumping header past Speare from six yards.
v Vauxhall Motors But in the 44th minute yet another flag kick, this time from the left, was met by Lee Woodyatt’s attempted clearing header. It only reached Clarke who, from just outside the area, unleashed a rasping volley which was still rising as it bulged the net under Lake’s right hand angle.
v Lancaster But any jitters the Reds may have had were eased in the 18th minute by the first goal. Ashley Burbeary’s right wing flag kick was flicked on by Barnsley loanee Ryan Laight, who was making his debut, and Clarke drilled it into the corner of the net from eight yards. Six minutes later Robert Henry felled Steve Scoffham some 25 yards from goal, Reeves headed Burbeary’s free kick and Clarke made sure from almost on the line to double the lead.

Funnily enough I wasn't asking you specifically to provide the answer. Anyway, from the Alfreton website Ryan Clarke has scored 9 goals in the last two seasons, so he's hardly a goalscorer which makes sense as he's a FULLBACK. And a decent one as well from what I can gather.
