The problem with just staying away (and it's sad when it's loyal fans like TJ) is that their motives will be misread and it will be assumed their absence is due to what's happening on the pitch rather than off it. Once again the board will be able to side step the blame. This is the trouble, though I doubt that anyone will notice that one person or indeed a small number of people have stopped going. I couldn't make the St.Albans or Hayes games as I was in London, but deliberately ignored the Bath game, preferring to do the garden instead. Possibly the six points at the start of the season was a little bit of a false dawn, we were outplayed at Bognor for much of the game and were very lucky (or inspired at key moments) to nick it, from what I heard on the radio St Albans was rather similar. Since then the luck hasn't gone our way on the pitch, but that's all part and parcel of football. I wish the team every success, RD has put together a squad with some potential (when they play to their strengths, which is probably another story), but frankly the powers that be don't deserve to have a manager and team that are striving against the odds. It beggars belief, and concerns me greatly, that the ostrich mentality can continue behind the scenes - are they that naive that they believe they can tough it through the unrest, or that incompetent, or is it something more sinister? TJ that makes two of us out of a small community here on this MB. Maybe 30 regular posters? That is 7% or so or maybe 60 people off the average gate if this small sample is representative. I know people who dont go - and havent done for years - simply becasue of the current board. They were right to stay away but they, like thee and me, will be right behind any new board that has the best interests of the club (rather than the apparent self interest demonstrated by the existing board) at heart. My season ticket ,programme, sponsorship and 200 club monies are all available (backdated to the start of the season)) once the Club starts to be run in a transparent and businesslike manner.

I can accept a level of amateurism and even incompetence from people who run a small football club, but their lack of communication nails the coffin lid shut. If the debt isn't as large as we've been led to believe then why aren't we simply given some evidence? Ditto the suspected catering fiasco; the lack of accounts; ground move details etc etc. With no information being offered to counter rumours, and promises being "forgotten" when convenient - it's no wonder suspicions grow and talk of the board's alterior motives spread. Silence is not an option.

That is why they are preparing the 2008 accounts, and holding back the 2007 ones.

If you really cared about the club you could hand over your match fee to the trust who would reimburse it to the club when a new board is assembled. and a new board does not get assembled, and you are still 11quid out of pocket ... with no chance of a refund ! i feel all parties are losing the plot, and i am now seriously dissalusioned

Yes but if a new board does not get assembled, the club WILL fold. and the only party capable of keeping a club playing football should the company fold is the Trust. Thats just a constitutional fact. I wonder what matters most to "supporters", being 11 quid out of pocket or having a football club to support.

Nope - not at all, the clowns are confident they have enough votes to stay in power for as long as they want to, which based on their lack of interest in a compromise which would embrace supporter involvement, and potential for new investment (over and above the 8 ladies who might venture into the anti-Social Club in full Ladies Day gear!) suggests they want to stay around and make fools of supporters for as long as there is a WCFC.

I wonder if in fact they do have "enough votes to stay in power for as long as they want to" ? The Shareholder Action Group at their public meeting (4 july 08) at WCCC stated that they would call (for the 3rd time) an EGM, this call never arrived. If the EGM proposal had been actioned in early July, by now the EGM would have taken place and the outcome known by all. Do you know if the Shareholder Action Group had enough Shareholder votes to remove the current Board or did they regard the EGM as a "risk" due to a lack of Shareholder support ?

Want to start a straw poll suv and lets see how the popular vote might go? That should answer your question. At least it would be democracy of a sort.

How do you take a straw poll though? If you ask the posters in here they'd be gone tomorrow - out in the real world it's not like that. Most people think we're just a bunch of trouble makers.

Ask yourself which is the biggest black hole, the club or the trust. Anyway don't fret it will never happen. Too many heroin/football junkies - all they care about is their next fix.

Do you know if the Shareholder Action Group had enough Shareholder votes to remove the current Board or did they regard the EGM as a "risk" due to a lack of Shareholder support ? Thats absolutely true. My understanding is that the SHAG were very confident of enough votes which is why the EGM was called. It would have been risky to call an EGM and lose, therefore giving a clear mandate to those in charge. You have to remember why the EGM was not called, firstly after legal advice, the EGM call was rejected due to errors on the documents (errors which were unavoidable due to the lack of publication of company accounts showing shareholdings) So then a fully legal document was presented for a further EGM call. Certain members of the existing Board were sensible enough to understand the damage an EGM can cause, regardless of result (just think Thatcher) and requested that a compromise be put forward which was brokered by the Board - the Board wanted to avoid the EGM at all closts, and in fairness to SHAG and Board members such as Mike Sorensen and Celia Adams, there was sensible dialogue and plans to engage the whole spectrum of interests. I applaud the Doc and Celia for their total common sense and business acumen here. If andy is still around, this is as close as you could get to your magical middle way! Classic negotiation that IDIFF would have read about in his business manuals (initial stance, trade off, final stance and all that bollox) Unfortunately, due to the lack of any understanding of business from the circus ringleader and his merry bunch of clowns, the Board rejected their own compromise ( to add insult to injury they then suggested a new compromise, which would have effectively kept the old Board in place!!!) Once the SHAG realised that there was no honour amongst the jokers and clowns, it was clear that there could be no compromise, so deal off. Then it was a question of timing, with the Board promising publicly a AGM, there was no longer time to go back to an EGM call (and considering the AGM would cover the EGM concerns anyway, it effectively meant that the EGM/AGM would definitely happen in September, so no need for a seperate call) So now here we are in September and I do not believe there is now time to call an AGM during September, and the chairman has stated publicly that he plans to engage an independent consultant to chair the AGM - this brings up 2 points, firstly, it is questionable whether this move is legal (it'll be looked into) and its certainly not constitutional, but secondly, its suggests that the present Chair of the Board believes that he is incapable of Chairing the AGM!!! Anyway, with hindsight it may well have been better to have taken the more aggressive stance of rejecting the inititial compromise and bullishly pushed forward with an EGM, but I am inclined to agree with SHAG and accept that you have to respect the considered opinion of individuals of the quality of Mike Sorensen and Celia Adams. It was just such a pity that the Board decided to effectively stab them in the back with their u-turn!! Unfortunately thats the price you pay for taking a "middle way" which is why there really should be no "middle way" You can't account for the Fox! (IDIFF will know what that means) So would they have won the vote? Probably. Would it have damaged the club? Yes, but anything will now damage the club, its a question of limitation. Would they have engaged all parties? No Now there is little choice. Leave the Board to kill off what is left of the club, or salvage what can be salvaged by putting professional people in place to make hard decisions.

In hindsight perhaps the EGM should have been called - but had that route been pushed while compromise was been aired by the board, SHAG could easily have been cast as the villains. Now the board have shown their incompetence.
No money; no assets; no company accounts; no shareholdings record; no agm; no ground.

So whats your way of doing things? I'd love to here it. I'm guessing it will be along the lines of "support the club and the team and hope a miracle occurs." . I would continue to seek change through an AGM/EGM. I can't see what match day protests are going to achieve apart from alienating you from a large number of supporters, affecting the team and making the current powers that be dig their heels in further.[/quote Chairman Boddy publicly promised an AGM in September. With it now being the 29th, they have 10 days left to call it, for it to be held in late September. If he was so keen on sorting the Club out why is he taking so long? They are putting in two years of accounts, it is Worcester City FC - a small time football Club not Fu**ing Microsoft!! The AGM could have been held next week and all of this could have been cleared up, once and for all, allowing the Club to move forward in whichever direction the shareholders chose, with the action groups blessing if it went against our views. Neither he nor the Company Secretary has contacted me or any of the other 7 people who have had their names put forward to stand at the AGM. He has been specifically asked if the nominations are going to be accepted or rejected. That was last Thursday. I can clarify that a very simple proposal and second form for 8 people has been lodged with the Company Secretary. If he goes with his usual tactic, where he doesn't tell anyone when the AGM is going to be called, we have to keep sending proposal forms in every week until he does. It is the only way we can be sure of having our forms in on time. Even then we don't know if he will find a reason not to accept them. It is a game the Board likes to play to stop anyone else spoiling their soon to be bust club. Having said that I'm sure he won't be in too much of a hurry on letting anyone else see the financial mess the club is in, so it could well drag on until December!! We are not going to back down until an official AGM or EGM. My postman has just been and I'm quite suprised, seeing as Dave Boddy publicly promised an AGM would be held in September (several times), that I have received no notification of the AGM. Maybe despite virtually everyone against the present Board they still think they are going to turn the club around and take us to Nunnery Way.Somehow, I don't think so and I can't quite put my finger on it. Dave Boddy, Tony Partridge, Laurie Brown & John Prescott - there is only so much you can borrow. Anyway forget what's going on. Its "Ladies Day" on Saturday - something to look forward to.

Just wanted to add, that throughout all of the off field shenanigans, the conduct of the management has been exemplary. I applaud RD and CH, who, obviously aware of the current situation, and probably mightily frustrated at whats going on, have concentrated on the business of preparing teams to win football matches. These guys are a real credit to WCFC, and I doubt that there's a single person within the Shareholders Groups and Supporters Groups who is not 100% behind them. Richard, Carl, if you read this - we are all with you and totally support your efforts, keep up the good work, and keep the boys positive. Everything will work its way out off the pitch, and at the end of all this, I think you'll be in a better position to deliver. Well done fellas!!

Spot on Mr Brooksider. Richard and Carl have been fantastic during this difficult and turbulent time, and have concentrated on the job in hand, trying to win football matches.
It would have been very easy to walk away and blame the off-field antics for their decision, but the guys are stronger and more professional than that. When this is all over, I firmly believe that Richard and Carl are the right people to have at the helm to take the club forwards on the pitch, whoever is taking the club forwards off it.

Perhaps on Saturday ALL fans attending the game should ALL stand on the terraces opposite the main stands, no one go into the stands. Symbolically and literally the board will be sat on there own....alas, such a gesture would probably be lost on them......
"OOO! Good turn out today. The ground must be full, look at that lot over there. There I told you everything would be alright in the end. I told them we could turn it around" says a smug Dave Boddy.

Otherwise keep on walking, up the canal, to our new ground Perdiswell
