RIP Ron. Ex city goalie who went on to play for England and in a cup final for Luton.

...but I’m a bit behind the curve these days, but is Simon Lancaster any relation to ex director Brian?

Cogg has every right to question this. The club was sunk by Boddy and Co’s secret, shoddy deals. This new development may be beneficial, if it is then there’s no need for secrecy and all the information should be disclosed and discussed BEFORE any vote is taken. After all we have suffered over the years this is the least the Trust should guarantee.
Never trust a salesman who pressures you for a decision.

If the stadium was built on the western edge of Perdiswell near where the old changing rooms were then surely there would be no neighbours to complain?

There won’t be room for a stadium on Pitchcroft once the giant radiators are built. Far better to revisit the plans for Parsonage Way.

Well after so many years of deep gloom it’s most refreshing to read of optimism and positivity among supporters. Long may it continue. Stay safe all.

Apologies if this question has been covered elsewhere - especially if this was via Spotify interviews or whatever (I’m too old for this new technology stuff).
I have nothing but admiration for all those who have brought the club home. Respect. But are there still long term plans for a new ground? Or do the club plan to develop Claines Lane?
Love from afar!

After the shambles of recent years the fact that WCFC has any ground at all is a minor miracle and a testament to the hard work of a few dedicated stalwarts. The likes of Rich Widd and co are heroes.

Here’s my recollection of events, I’m sure others can correct me or add details.
Back at the dawn of time (late ‘60s?) Dave Boddy persuaded WCFC they needed a commercial manager, and he was the obvious man for the job - being a go-getting entrepreneur type. After a short while it became apparent that he wasn’t quite the whizz-kid he made out he was. In fact he didn’t make enough money for the club to pay his wages. So the club fired him.
Boddy’s ego was so wounded he vowed to create a club that would become bigger than WCFC - I.e. Worcester Athletico. To that end he took over Upton F.C. and ruined them, then he did the same at Evesham. It was to become a familiar pattern. Somehow he wheedled his way back into WCFC and eventually became chairman.
You know the rest - we lost SGL.
Boddy is a dangerous combination of deluded, over-inflated self-confidence and gross incompetence.
I look forward to being corrected if I’m wrong.

I don’t see why there should be a fallout at Sixways any more than anywhere else - including WCFC. If they stay united though I can see them rising up the league pyramid much quicker than City. At the end of the day it’s all about finances. We have none. I hope this doesn’t develop into a petty squabble between clubs. WCFC has more important matters to concentrate on. It’s not about us and them.

The sad reality is that the area can’t sustain two clubs. Either one will fade away, or they will merge. It may take 6 months or 6 years but it will happen. Would City fans accept being the junior side in the town? I doubt it.

It will be Worcester Warriors F.C. And expect Boddy to be interested in developments. His claim to “have always been a Raiders fan” is already being drafted.
