Yes Hereford had plenty of coverage in our league didn't they, even kiddy get live commentary and I doubt any other local radio station in the country does that for a national north league side. To be fair Redditch are going just aswell so why do Hereford get more attention?

The crowds have held up surprisingly well. There are little or none away fans in this league our old rivals Gloucester are getting sub 300 gates at Evesham without the away followings of the northern clubs this season. Even in the old st Georges lane days some seasons I remember 450 crowds were the norm. It may annoy some on here but as mentioned a lot of footy fans at any level just don't care about the politics unless their team is losing. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing but that's how its always been.

On reflection how many times have we gone out of the fa cup to lower graded opposition over the years? Quite a few. This time we went out to a team from a higher league. No shame in that. We have to accept we have sunk a long way. We can now concentrate on the league as they say

I impressed my other half as I guessed the crowd as 375. Mind you she doesn't know much about footy. I took her to her first game at Gloucester last season, pointing at the dugouts she asked if they were the goals?!

Forgetting the off the pitch problems you can't ask for any more than win in the first league game. A good performance and the second goal would have graced any level. Hope for more of the same on tuesday

Agreed but in those days we still had the unfairness of having to be elected to the league no matter how good you were. Remember top conference teams like runcorn, Enfield, Weymouth and Kettering. We came good at the wrong time whereas kiddy and Cheltenham for example a few years after were able to win their place in the league. Wonder how history would have turned out differently for us and those other clubs mentioned if the fairer system had started sooner?

Yes wasn't he the chap who got done for flashing? He went to the newsagents to buy his sports argus and lobbed out more than his 50 pence to the poor girl behind the counter. Is he available to become chairman I wonder?

The fact that it was all ticket reduced the crowd by a third I would estimate. It was only 121 tickets short of capacity. Yes sorry what i meant was that i think it would have been a 3k gate if it wasnt all ticket

The fact that it was all ticket reduced the crowd by a third I would estimate. City can attract a large walk up following who maybe for whatever reason did not get round to buying a ticket in advance. Even the Coventry match a few years ago was pay on the day remember and around 4k of us rocked up that day

I wish we had signed Gordon ramsey when he lived at stratford! instead of travelling all the way to rangers. anyway some people will moan about anything. I think I have mentioned our friendly against Tulsa roughnecks in 1979 before but it was basically an exhibition game against loads of old top flight players which we lost 3-2. we didn't lose many at the time and as the manager walked off some bloke was shouting, bloody rubbish Clarke! at nobby

I much prefer Bromsgrove. Much better than playing at a borough with only half the ground open and swathes of empty seats

I enjoyed it. A good atmosphere, able to walk around the ground freely, food and drink cheaper. A better attendance than I expected.

I think the answer is no,judging by the P&L for the three years at Aggborough for match income. Year 1 - c.£73,000 Year 2 - c.£80,000 Year 3 - c.£92,000 OK maybe not as cheap as the 99 pounds offer then but still cheap enough to entice a few extras, Wigan and Charlton also doing sub 200 season tickets next season.

I have often wondered if it worked out better for the club to sell 500 season tickets for 99 pounds for our first season at aggborough compared to lower numbers recently at around 200 pounds? I only mention this as our old fa cup opponents Huddersfield have reduced theirs to 174 pounds for next season and it seems to have worked with about 14k sold

did you see the documentary last sunday evening about laurie cunningham on itv, well worth viewing on a online catchup service if its available, i had forgotten he was an fa cup winner with wimbledon for example. but back to carl heeley, i dont think many managers who have lost 6 in a row are likely to be in much demand anyway. have any previous managers at city survived such a set of results? its lucky most of the boo boys no longer attend the lane, i remember one guy abusing nobby clarke at the tunnel after losing 3:2 to tulsa roughnecks in a friendly in our heyday!

the idea of cheap season tickets to get people in has been done by other clubs successfully in recent years, not just hartlepool, ever wonder why bradford get 10,000 gates in league 2? I feel in citys case they should be offering them as an incentive to make the journey to aggborough, you dont need to get to as many games to get your moneys worth and its affordable. But to make the cut off point may 3rd and to say the price wont apply if we dont sell 1500 is a massive mistake, 500 is a bit more realistic.I am embarassed to say that i am on a very tight budget at the moment, i can afford to buy one at 100 and i want one but i wont take a chance on buying in case the price jumps up . just keep the price at 100 throughout the summer without any conditions attached and allow time for word of the price to spread and the momentum of sales to build
