It was a real Jekyll & Hyde performance from City - first half carried on as we left off against Hucknall, second half was more like Workington revisited.
Both goalkeepers forced into some great saves, Belford - who didn't put a foot or hand wrong all game - made an amazing double save that seemed to suck all the belief out of Nuneaton. Though Darren Acton's world-class impression of a beached whale was pretty special - that was the first time I've seen a referee call Greenpeace onto the pitch.
It was also great to see Nic Colley put in one of his superb terrier-like performances for Richard Dryden. I'd hate to think that Afreton might be able to complete the set. Macca put in a Viagra performance too - he stood up and made us grateful.
Entry prices were reduced to £7, so almost half-price for a good half of a performance.

£7? - I was waved through a gate without paying by a Nuneaton steward as I clung on to the coat tails of three elderly season ticket holders!

Moley, you're being a bit hard on your boys: quick, direct football in the first half, good to watch. Second half, end to end stuff, a cracking game and like us, you had chances to win it at the death. no offence to your boys- but in the 2.9 previous games we had scored 8 goals. at 1-0 up, we should have taken that into account and realised we are good enough to beat you well if we play to our potential and attack and kill the game off. instead we sat back at home and defended. to me, thats poor. your man of the for me was Nwadike- superb. ours- Pritchard. you also had more fans that i expected, 40 would you say?

About 60 - we don't all go behind the goal.

Why can't we start a game like we finish?

I think Richard Dryden keeps saying that; we only seem to start to play when we go a goal or two down. I am looking forward to the match where we go in front and stay in front, so that I don't have to chew my fingernails.
I think the lads deserve the next 10 days off to recharge their batteries.

I think AC posted on one of the conf-north boards:
In a league table based only on the first half of matches we're 21st. In one based on the second half - we're 2nd!

Blimey, I didn't realise it was statistically that bad; that confirms what everyone knows, that we're a second half team.
We were renowned as a second half team in Nobby Clarke's day, so nothing has changed.
