Have I missed something? On 2 May Snapper was quoted in the WN as saying that players' futures would be resolved within the next week. But almost a month on there has been no more news on players retained/released?

It was a bit of a silly statement by Snapper, considering the players had no idea what league we would playing in at the time. It was even before the first team trials had taken place.

I am sure news will come out in the coming weeks or so.
Hinckley have only just today released details on their squad.
Holidays, other offers etc all come into these things i guess

Exactly, any team that sorts out its players in May is going to be missing out on the player merry go round through June and July.

For all we know, City may be off that particular merry-go-round now. We've signed four new players but if we are recruiting through the trial day that would do away with the need to get into bidding wars for players that are out of contract. Besides, we are working to stay within the constraints of a balanced budget, so there can't be much leeway for our management team when it comes to wage negotiations.

I take it that the lad was on a contract that extended over two or more seasons. How many more of that ilk remain to be aborted ?
I take it that at low level such as WCFC will now perform, the preference is towards monthly, weekly and `pay if you play` agreements. the Non League paper reported last season that one such club had used upwards of 60 players. At least supporters will have new players to welcome every match !

Its pretty much at the level of, if you've got a pair of boots, you might get a game, cash in hand (expenses) with players pretty well free to come and go when they please. We've dipped out of the semi-pro game, down into the virtually amateur ranks. We are at the level where, double digit crowds are standard, and just two steps down, floodlights are optional!

Strictly speaking amateur football no longer exists in this country, it disappeared in 1974. But yes, we are in a very different place. I hope all City fans realise this and will not have grandiose expectations. Also we shouldn't underestimate the opposition, some clubs in the MFL will I'm sure have a more professional outlook than others.
Going back to the original thread, I guess other clubs' websites and social media are the best way of finding out about players departing. Any more news gratefully received if it can be posted here.

I make it that so far, of last season's players -
Graham Hutchison to Telford Tom Sharpe to Bedworth Junior English to Leamington
Why no mention of the departures on the Club website, if only to thank them for their efforts ?
You can't blame the players at all. I thank them all for their efforts in what we later learnt was a lost cause, and wish them well for the future.

Perhaps they have released their web master, as not a lot coming out from the club Nope Your right theres very little on the club website about anything. I'm guessing Chairman Hampson fired whoever did the website and either does it himself or gets one of his secretaries to do it. It will also be interesting to see who he employs (if does employ anybody that is) to editor/produce the programme next season ? Unless Rob comes back to do it ?

Player news on the website has in recent weeks been better than it has in previous pre seasons so well done whoever is running it.

Also added a sponsorship page and an admission price page...both previously either out of date or totally missing.
You will also notice that the vanarama logos have been removed and replaced.
The sponsors removed of those no longer supporting the club.
The ONLY thing not on the site is news on current/former player's....

I've generally been apathetic about the goings on at the club since the community ownership model was rejected, but this is a shame. Danny was offered playing terms for this year but understand why he wouldn't accept them. I always hoped he would manage City one day but we'll have gone under by the time he retires in 2 years I imagine.

How do you know he was offered playing terms? I've not seen that reported anywhere. It's a disappointment to see him leave but if Danny wanted to combine playing with coaching I can't see that there would have been a role for him at Worcester, so perhaps inevitable.

So, I've tried to compile details of everyone who I think was technically still with us at the end of last season.
We know the following have gone:
Junior English - Leamington Graham Hutchison - Telford Danny Jackman - Redditch Tom Sharpe - Bedworth Chekaine Steele - Telford
Our loanees will presumably have returned from whence they came:
Kuda Muskwe and Tom Rose - Back to Rotherham Ethan Ross - WBA
There were several players who spent much of last season out on loan:
Joe Bates - At Bishops Cleeve of the Southern League Division One South and West Nick Draper - Last heard of on loan at Mickleover Sports Kieron Morris - Dual registration with Stafford Rangers, where he was manager's player of the season. Nathan Olukanmi - Dual registration with Leamington Jamie Smith - At Droitwich Spa, now back at Worcester
The following youngsters I'm guessing will still be part of the first team set-up:
Aaron Brett Callum Devlin Tyreece Ruddock Ben Tilbury Dan Turner
The following were stopgaps and I think have disappeared off the horizon:
Pa Sulay Njie Chay Scrivens
That leaves the future whereabouts of the following still to be revealed:
James Chambers Andy Gallinagh Connor Gater Cieron Keane Jordan Keane Jordan Murphy Ebby Nelson-Addy Sam Oji Nathan Vaughan Tyler Weir
I guess all or most will be weighing up offers before signing elsewhere.
Does that look about right?
