That is really very unfair RichW, Anthony Hampson is a skilled man, after all, he moved the Chamber of Commerce 50 yards from Moor Street to Castle Street!! That must have been a monumental task in itself. But he has now surpassed that, he's moved Worcester City Football Club back 50 years!! I wonder, why, after this amazing feat of commercial wizardry with the Chamber of Commerce, have no members of the Chamber of Commerce, who Hampson must know very well, and be held in high esteem, why have none of them come forward to offer help and financial assistance at Worcester City FC? I do remember the CEO of The Chamber of Commerce coming along to a meeting held by Hampson. As with all of his promises, All sorts of wonderful things were going to happen....................................... Oh my word yes!! I remember that meeting. I actually felt sorry for the poor guy, I mean he looked a bit like Rod Hull, and he'd left his emu at home! He hadn't been briefed in any way by Hampson about who we were, what to say, and what the reception might have been like. I doubt it that the head of a chamber of commerce often is told to sit down and stop embarassing themsleves!! He did have a rather attractive personal assistant though!

This is a move by the board to sink Perdiswell once and for all. Who will support Perdiswell if another stadium is being built? Then while the board faff around making noises about their plans they can milk whatever funds are left. Once the money has gone they can throw up their hands and say "we tried".
And Worcester will be left with no football club.
Shameful.

Not a Rod Hull lookalike - a Keith Harris double. Both puppeteers, but it was Hallmark with his hand up that idiot's backside.

Isn't the application for Perdy a ST/WCFC joint application? If so, I presume WCFC can withdraw their support of the application and the whole thing will have to be re-applied solely as a ST application. Am I reading this correctly?

No, they can't do that, if there is a joint application , which is fairly common, and one party pulls out, this has no effect on the other applicants. Interestingly, if planning consent is given, the consent is owned by the land owner, not necessarily the applicant. The application may get consent, and the applicants do nothing with it, or pull out, wither jointly or severally. The application cannot be withdrawn unless all parties consent to withdrawal. A planning application, or planning consent, is not a commitment to build, otherwise WCFC would be turning earth at Nunnery Way now.

Rich, I'm thinking you are missing my point of NOT being negative. As a shareholder why am I not aiming these questions to the board, that surely is self explanatory, they are clueless, full of BS & rarely tell the truth. The reason I'm asking if the community facility is more important to the trust than just the football club is because I'm wondering if it's worth saving the club at all. Perhaps the time is right to break away altogether & form some sort of Phoenix club now & press on with the community programme on the back of it. If that were the case, would we not be able to apply to join the league at a similar level to what this bunch of idiots has dumped us in?

Good points Jimbo. If we wait for anything to develop with this board WCFC will die. If we wait for the board to pull together with the fans we will die. But if we form a new club then I can't see it gaining backing from the council and the locals.

Unfortunately this whole scenario is being driven by city councillors, and not the football club. The Board just havent got the basic common sense to see through this charade. They're being used, and have fallen hook line and sinker for a half baked scheme, which can never get off the ground. Nothing is impossible, if you throw enough money at it, and I'm sure that given a few hundreds of thousands of pounds, a scheme could be put together. One Director, as well as the Chairman, have said that we will be at Parsonage Way in 2 years!

Hi Jim, no I'm not I know exactly what you are getting at and I agree with you 100% and you are right, you will not get anything other than bullshit from Hapless and his Board. From what I can gather, they are expecting this new application to be ready and the ground built within..............you have guessed it, 2 years!

The letter I wrote to the WN in March last year now makes more interesting reading based on these events - especially the bits in bold:

Sadly inaccurate reporting here. The article suggest the Perdiswell application is the child of the ST alone. Surely it is a joint application by the Club and the Trust? Secondly the Leader of the Council suggests that there are two sides that need to get together to support the application. On what grounds does he make that assertion if there is an application supported by Trust and Club? He is surely not suggesting that the Club are against their own planning application is he? If so I think we should be told. Time for the WN to get an interview with the Chairman and ask him straight out about this?

That is a real non article from the WN. What news does it tell us that we didn't already know? Not a lot.

That is a real non article from the WN. What news does it tell us that we didn't already know? Not a lot. I think it tells us that "the board" want to go it alone (Plan B?) and not involve the trust, shareholders or supporters. Does Mr H want the club back in Worcester or not, at the moment Perdiswell is the option most likely to be heard first, if passed would the board support this, or still ignore the views of the 80%+ of true City supporters.

Can't "work together" if WCFC don't talk with WCFCST, have secret meetings exclude WCFCST & treat them as 'mushrooms'.
Ken Johnson added, WCFC Geordie Branch @citytoon94 Club and supporters' trust working together is unfortunately easier said than done #bringcityhome … 0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes

Once St Modwen's " let us kindly help WCFC's enabling development " fortunately opened the door to the strip of land of land next to the motorway..........guess what.................it's all aboard................ This is a new application for the next field up from the Parsonage Way site ( top of Plantation Drive ) - lots of resident's opposition already, and rightly so planning.worcester.gov.uk/OcellaWeb/planningDetails?reference=P17P0247&from=planningSearch

That's how long this land has been allocated to light industrial use. I'm pretty sure it goes back before St Modwen's were even involved. I remember seeing plans when Wardon Villages FC wanted to develop football pitches at Mabb's Orchard (now allotments that are soon to double in size) that had the land in question set out for employment use.
