I personally don't think the WN has such a magnificent record of absolute facts of Worcester City FC Why you can rely on WN

Where were they when the dodgy deals were going through? Where were they when a slice of the area's heritage was sold off? Where were they when the folly of the financial mismanagement was pointed out to them?

Couldn't agree more. Far too heavy on their own trumpet blowing ! The match coverage and playing coverage has been generally very good over the years.
However as noboddy points out, where were they when they were really needed ?
I've always got that the impression that awkward off the field questions have been avoided by the WN at all costs, and the lack of any kind of investigative journalism at WN ( not just about WCFC, but on everything ) is frankly shameful.
I suppose it's easier to report on minor trivia such as chicken shop hygiene ratings, or someone whose Housing Association gate hasn't been mended, and build a story around social media responses, than it is to get your hands a bit dirty and dig about a bit.

Totally agree and would add BBC HerefordFC and Warriors to the crime sheet.

Its like this, firstly these 'local' papers arent local at all. Newsquest is a National company, and all of its 'local' papers are there to tow the line. They don't do investigative journalism, they aren't allowed to ask questions. As was told to me by one of the WN journalists "We report on what has happened" hence the big big stories are the man with no chicken in his microwave chicken curry meal.

An outrageous incident! What this nation needs is "strong and stable" road signs.

You're spot on in regard to the WN being a national entity, but I'm sure the lack of reporting was compounded by a tight knit local cabal that closed ranks to protect their "chums". Is it a coincidence that the editor of the WN moved to Newport, only for Boddy to bail out and find a job in the same town?

I wonder if WN might run a one person one vote poll on whether Godwin and the rest of the Directors should resign?

WN front page tomorrow makes interestin reading, council & developers in talks of putting housing estate on part of Perdiswell & the defunct Park & ride, this has been spouted many times, just wonder how those who opose WCFC new stadium will reflect on this...
would love to get Gareth & his nimbys to comment, well anyone who has an oppinion...

I have always said - if the Community Hub does not pass in favour of housing on the site - I will actively support the housing application. We need more affordable stock and that was always a prime site for it. As I told the PPP zealots - be careful what you wish for - you might just get it

Could this be why certain councillors have opposed the stadium plan? So they can profit from housing development?

I saw Geoff Berkeley (our intrepid WN reporter) in the Plough tonight. But he left about 2 minutes before I saw that front page.
Would have liked to get his take on it
