I think we are in danger of losing sight of who we really are. Where has the spirit of the Brookside gone? We need some more moaning and cries of "bloody rubbish" or the club is in danger of changing its essence. We are, after all, Worcester City. If things stay like this for too long, miserable old gits like me will feel lost.

I wouldn't worry yourself too much Archie. Football fans in general are notoriously fickle to please for any length of time, and it doesn't take much to turn things the other way very quickly, and for that " essence " to reappear. There are far more bad times than good times in football, so that's why we've got to enjoy the present.

In all seriousness though, we mustn't forget the journey our club has been on for the last 24 months or so.
The cup run is incredible and joyful, but it will end (...sometime between now and May)
Turning City into a fan owned club, with a new home at Perdiswell is the vision. And the cup run is a great distraction that can help with the club's profile and of course financially

These are wonderful times. It was a joy to stand in a stadium surrounded by Worcester folk. My people.
The cup runs must help to bring the club back home - surely? Both for financial and publicity reasons?
The work behind the scenes to keep the club alive, let alone achieve what they have, is truly wonderous.

Lets just enjoy the moment while it lasts. Cast your mind back to the first game in this calendar year [4th Jan 2014] We lost 6-1 at Bradford P A and were positioned like this;
19th Gloucester played 22 points 19 20th Barrow played 21 points 19 21st Worcester played 22 points 17 [only 3 wins] 22nd Workington played 23 points 14
Feel any happier now Archie? Barrow fans will also be enjoying things at present.

I'm happy enough. Even if we go out of both cups in the next couple of weeks it's been a great time for the fans, the club and the city. A season we'll never forget. Again well done to Rich, Creaner and all those keeping this club alive.

AND we should look at this in the context of our neighbours Hereford and Kidderminster.
Hereford are on the verge of going out of business, Kiddy are looking likely to enter harder times. Two years ago they were both 'flying' and we were at risk of not having a club...
The fact we still have a club, and at the same level, is something to be proud of. Massively down to the folks Archie mentions above. The fact we are (notionally) in the 3rd round of the cup is, well, pretty amazing.
