Just got in. What a brilliant day. Excellent result, performance and atmosphere. The south stand was packed with City (worcester) fans who got behind the team from the first minute right through to the last of the 7 minutes added on. And the players gave them plenty to shout about. No lucky victory, fully deserved.
It is also great that the draw is taking place tomorrow evening as it gives us humble folk a chance to savour the moment and speculate on who we might face in the next round.
Is this the first time we have defeated a league team away from home?

Truly Amazing. Back 4 were fantastic. Every player gave all. Can't fault anyone of them. Flew out the blocks & unsettled Cov from minute 1

Just magnificent. We were the enter side from start to finish
And to cap it off - I had backed City to win 2-1 at 28/1!!!

King Carl has performed a minor miracle in his time as manager ..and that was before today.
He summed it up in his post match interview wondering when our turn would come. Well it did and how!
Congratulations to KC and the players - a legendary win.

A great day for all concerned with Worcester City FC and what support! The few Coventry fans that attended must have been shocked that a non league team would bring so many passionate fans. The noise was terrific!
Well done to Carl and the lads. The commitment from this team has been apparent all season and they thoroughly deserved the standing ovation they received. The scenes of joy from the players and tears from the boss at the end showed what this victory meant to everyone.
Thanks again to EVERYONE associated with the club, that have worked hard to save the club from the brink of extinction so that we, the fans, can enjoy fantastic days like this.

Cov fan here in peace. Just like to say what a credit you and your team were today, you came with a game plan and completely outwitted our idiotic manager (Fancy a swap?). The 3000 odd supporters were in fantastic voice all game and I was very impressed with the Geddes lad in midfield (Surely should be playing at a higher level?) and Wayne Thomas showed his league experience winning everything in the air. Here's hoping you make it through the next round and get a big tie in the 3rd. GL for the rest of the season.

Just like to add our congratulations too.
The majority of Harriers fans were behind you today as you can see from the thread on the forum.
Hope you get drawn at home and I'm sure you'll have a few of us along, especially if Aldershot beat Portsmouth meaning our away game there on the Saturday, Aldershot, will be cancelled.

Just got back home and still absolutely buzzing from this afternoon. What a cracking day out and an amazing turn out from the City (Worcester!) fans which made for an amazing atmosphere.
The best thing about today was that it wasn't a lucky win, it was fully deserved. We outplayed them from start to finish and even before they went down to 10 men you felt we were on top and could win it.
Well done to Carl, Matt and everyone at the Club. Roll on the second round draw on Monday!

Anything I might say won't express how I feel about today. Let's just say that fantastic performance against Accrington in 2005 is now my SECOND favourite City performance.

FANTASTIC!
Some of us remember a less memorable performance in deepest Surrey a few years ago;today made up for all that. PL support in one of the biggest grounds WCFC have ever played in...Wayne Thomas was ******* Immense. If you had to pick out someone..
Carl and the lads, well done. You deserved the day.
Great stuff.

Wow. This (almost) beats playing in Big Match 1 at the Lane
Was out walking on the Moors above Hebden Bridge. But my thoughts were at Coventry. Its an exiles life.
We are number 36 in tomorrows draw.

Hi chaps, Dover fan here - just called in to say well done on a fantastic result. We went to Gillingham (our big brother rivals) a few years ago and won there in the first round, so what you guys must have made of yesterday I can only imagine. Makes years of supporting your local non league team worth it - I am sure you enjoyed that more than any Man Yoo fan has ever enjoyed winning the Premier League! Anyway, proper club Worcester, so enjoy it and good luck in the next round......unless it's against us, of course!

Well I checked this morning's newspaper and it says Coventry City 1 Worcester City 2 and so it did happen! Where do you begin?
1) beating League 1 opposition on their own ground.
2) a well taken penalty despite the delay in replacing the 'keeper - one of the BBC pundits said they could have had two goalkeepers and it would still have gone in!
3) the City fitness levels to compete for 90 (sorry 97 minutes!) with a full-time side on what looked a gooey pitch where the Rugby has taken its toll.
4) to watch/listen to the BBC pundits affixed to the studio coverage from the Ricoh and not just because of the potential for an upset but because of City's play. From early on they were saying City were playing much the better football.
5) an all-seated stadium and ticket arrangements that concentrated the wonderful City support into one area to create a wall of sound.
6) a beautifully executed second goal.
7) to hear Steven Pressley, Coventry City manager, offer absolutely no excuses and acknowledged that his side were well beaten.

The whole team was outstanding.... But the image that stays with me is Tyler Weir putting in a crunching tackle early on, was clearly injured but played on, ran it off - didn't call for any treatment. And was still flying after 100 minutes of football
By the way the club highlights are excellent. Better than BBC coverage

Totally agree with the comment about the club highlights; after two minutes it shows George Williams chasing back and catching the Coventry winger.
You are absolutely right about Tyler limping which just goes to show the strength of his character and team spirit.
I couldn't help noticing in the match programme that Coventry had watched the Leamington game and showed the Worcester line-up for that match; the only position they got right was the keeper - so much for scouting the opposition!
Lastly well done to the management team as their team selection was spot on and it was great to see strength on the bench too!

One of THE great days supporting City (and I've been watching them since 1957!). The whole day from start to finish was superb and it was great to see us still well on top even during the endless added time. Credit to Coventry and their manager for accepting we fully deserved to win and not dwelling on the red card.
Incidentally, I thought their penalty was a joke. From my seat directly behind the goal, it looked like a perfectly timed challenge by Hutch that took the ball. At least justice was done, thanks to Nathan's super save.

Oh my God! Ditto to all of the above. Interestingly after carefully watching the highlights several times I think its clear that Danny Nti DID trip their keeper by sticking his foot out as he ran past. Equally clear it was never a penalty for Coventry, so I guess it evened things up. Incidentally on the BBC Highlights it looked like a lame penalty from the Coventry skipper and an easy save from Vaughany, in actual fact from directly behind the goal we could see that the ball was headed directly for the corner and Vaughany not only had to guess the right way but get down sharply and stretch his hands out. It was a great save at a crucial moment.
For me the highlight was seeing Carl's reaction at the end. We watch him on the touchline week after week, immobile, saying littler, stroking his chin, a real 'stoneface'. But to see how delighted he was at the end with a magnificent display of emotion proves he is City through and through. I reckon if he hadn't been the Manager he would have been with the rest of us behind the goal. He continues to do a magnificent job (with Gards and Snapper), with scant resources. He has put together this team and moulded them into a real competitive footballing side we can all be very proud of. Bring on the next round!!!!

Interestingly after carefully watching the highlights several times I think its clear that Danny Nti DID trip their keeper by sticking his foot out as he ran past. Like everyone else, I've watched the highlights - & I thought it should have been a penalty to us for dangerous play on Nti even before the red card. The Coventry player's feet were up to Nti's head level. You can see there were several claims at the time. Anywhere else on the pitch it would have been a foul. ...anyway, I quite enjoyed yesterday (I almost forgot that we now get £18k winning prize money too). It's mounting up nicely. Fingers crossed for a home tie next round - I bet that would then be on the telly after what we did yesterday. Coventry 2014 is now part of our history. Nobody can take that away from us. The team, the fans - we'll have that forever.

Whilst we are all still in a state of euphoria – I have been contemplating whether there has ever been a better Cup result for City since I have been watching them (mid 70s) Plymouth in 78 comes close, and getting to Coventry when Cov were top flight in 83 was immense.. But – to beat a previous Cup winner, away from home, amazing atmosphere, with such a great performance….
Yesterday has to be it.....

Fantastic stuff yesterday, I can remember everything clearly, just watched the highlights that RW has done (well done Rich), George Williams chasing back was top notch and I can see a few clubs sniffing around him now. Geddes strike gets better everytime I watch it. The thing that pleases me the most is the following we had, there was no trouble, singing from start to finish and this shows that Worcester needs a football club back in the City !!!
Next round for me...its easy to pick the smaller teams but why bother.....lets have Sheff United, Bristol City or Cheltenham Town at Aggborough, get a TV tie and lets sell out Aggborough...bring it on !!
Weve got three winnable league games between now and then, Leamington (H), Harrogate (A) and Hyde (A)

Congratulations on a wonderful result yesterday and in my mind eclipses the Liverpool win in 1959 (I was there!). We beat Liverpool on a grass less pitch at home in an intimidating atmosphere for Liverpool, close to the pitch crowd etc. Yesterday we played with relish away from home in a big time stadium and outplayed Coventry pretty well the whole match. The day was what us non-league supporters only dream of .....but this time it actually happened!

Fantastic!!!.....How can we top this? Actually win the F A Cup? I've watched City since about 1970 and I am also contemplating whether this has been their best ever cup result. When Nathan Vaughan made the penalty save I thought at that point, this is going to be our day. Although I must admit the 7 minutes of injury time were a bit nerve racking. Since the big occasion I've now watched the BBC and Youtube highlights several times over and I still jump in the air when our second goal is scored. We'll be talking about it for years. For the next round I would like Blyth or Warrington at home to give us the best chance of reaching the 3rd round.

Would just like to echo everything that has been said, for me the best day out at a football match since Swindon beat Arsenal at Wembley. I would also add besides congratulations to Carl and all the team, thanks to the board for their faith in Carl particularly during some tough times he has had.

Can I just give a big thank you to those who helped getting the fans on the coaches yesterday from Pitchcroft. 12 buses and nearly 600 people all safely there and back. Thanks again!

Not having an iPad or up to date mobile phone I've only just got on here and it's pretty well all been said. What a day! What a result! Been supporting City on and off (mostly on) since 1956-57 season, so I was at the Millwall and Liverpoool games in 58-59 and at the Plymouth game in 72 and they are so long ago it's difficult to say if that's the best match, but at all those games the supporters were in the open: at the Richoh, with us being all in one spot and enclosed under that roof it seemed to magnify the noise, so I don't EVER remember such a cacophony of sound.
I usually despise those people who only come to the big cup-ties and don't support us at any other time but how glad I was to have them there yesterday. The Coventry "crowd" (such as it was) out-numbered us (there was 5000+ of them to only 3,220 of us) but you would never have known it: every mistake by a Coventry player greeted with mass derision, every winning City tackle greeted with thunderous applause. It was enough to reduce those of us in that hard core of 600 supporters who go to every home game to tears of joy!
I still haven't come down off the ceiling: sleep last night was impossible as I continually relived the day. I think I need to lie down in a darkened room.
Just two quibbles from me on what was one of THE great days following City: why don't those raucous supporters who don't normally follow us come to normal home games? And why do they have to use such bad language? Why does the age-old song (very appropriate yesterday) "You're supposed to be at home" have to be rendered as "Your support is f***ing sh*t" Un-necessary!
I shall be glued to that telly at 7 pm tonight, when no doubt those goals will be featured again.
C'mon City.
