bit of a theme isn't there ? another great idea spoilt by not giving the whole story. mentioned this at work, everyones first question is who is playing, when you say you don't know as they haven't given any ideas they lose interest. I am sure the final XI will change but to at least give an idea of players who are likely to play or have played is better than none at all. could be 11 players only die hard Liverpool supporters might know so can't sell a ticket until they all know who is playing. shame but typical of the club really If you read my post again it clearly states the release of the players names is controlled by Liverpool. This is exactly because of the fact that if the line up is announced then changes when people have bought a ticket expecting to see (insert Liverpool Legend here) then they're not going to be happy. Be patient until the announcement is made properly. As I said this is an expensive thing to set up so if you're not interested in coming fine but please don't complain when others are doing there best to raise money for the future.

It would be good to have a few confirmed names (from both sides) to help drum up some interest. I have lots of Liverpool supporting mates and if I could chuck some names at them, I may be able to get them buying tickets. In the past the likes of Alan Kennedy, Mark Walters, Phil Babb, Phil Neal and Mark Wright have been involved for such Liverpool Legends teams, and I hope that some of these may be at SGL! I assume Carl will want to captain the City Legends, and I hope we might see the likes of Mark Owen, Danny McDonnell, Ian Cotterill, Selbs (?) turning out as well. As this is costing a fair amount to set up I hope City fans can support this even if you haven't any particular Liverpool connections. It is a fundraiser after all so should be a fun day out. Rob, don't get me wrong, I intend to be there even if the Liverpool XI are being captained by the man who used to make Roy Evans' tea. However when trying to get people keen to come who have no particular emotional connection to Worcester City FC, but would like to see the likes of Robbie Fowler or Didi Hamann playing in their hometown, it is easier to get them interested if you can chuck some attractive names at them. Hopefully though there will be some clarification in good time ahead of the game so that we can draw a good crowd in.

www.google.co.ukSearch: Liverpool Legends Team Most of the players listed are regulars or have played previously, it may not be the exact same lineup but it gives a good indication. And to be fair most names should be known to most !

Just been putting posters up in Malvern, in my lunch hour, and reaction was positive. No one asked who was playing, just excited to hear Liverpool Legends were coming to Worcester. One pub/hotel owner said "excellent, give me two posters, I saw the Liverpool Legends in Cyprus some years ago. I will be there". Again no mention of names.

If you would occasionally listen to what people are saying to you then you might get a lot further. I have missed 3 games in 8 years similar away from home too. I am a season ticket holder and have always bought 50/50 , & lottery tickets. I have never shouted about it before but as you are not interested in the average supporter or hearing what they say. Just because I don't choose to socialise with you or sit with you at games my words get lost on here as someone who is causing trouble or doesn't care. You will know all about that Jem and know how I feel . And it is far from it, I want a WCFC. That is why I care about how poor your performance has been recently. If you were all not so pig headed and willing to listen you might hear what the average supporter is saying. You say people don't want to help. Well I made myself know to Mr Widdowson in November and offered my help in my profession in which you say you needed and with the financial help that would have gone with it. I was told by him that he had that in hand and wasn't something he needed. That was it, conversation finished, he just walked away. Made me feel very small and I wouldn't offer again if he begged! Just because I was a woman he thoght he could do better, well I know for a fact he is wrong. He is a control freak! I have spent a lot of time watching and reading this board but no more, I am leaving this board now and will not return. When you start to listen to the average supporter and stopped being such 'I AM' people you might get a whole lot further. Until then good luck and maybe listen to a bit of the criticism and learn from it

I'm sorry but that was a reply to pedant. Could I tell you the players names...yes...but as many above have said Liverpool have asked us to hang on until all are fully committed. No point saying Fowler, Redknapp and Ruddock are coming then they don't turn up ! Me telling you to look on google (which takes you to the legends website) gives you (as you clearly wanted to know names) a very good indication of who might be coming. I want to be able to release the names on the clubs official social media pages with facts about their time with Liverpool/Stats...but until they give us the green light I don't want to put my foot in it either, I agree it's frustrating but we just have to sit tight.

It's clear to see from your posts that your passionate about the club and it's that kind of support that will get us through this in the end. Message boards are terrible places to have conversations so again I'm sorry if anything I've written has got lost in translation and given offence then please accept my apology.

I,along with tinytraveller with be leaving this Forum because of the increasing synical and "Us and Them" attidude of certain members. I also have been a season ticket holder for many years and attend more away matches then home, due to work and family commitments. I have not found the need to boast that ive "bought my £100 season ticket or i will attend every money rasing event or social event connected to the suporters trust". I both Admirer and have great respect for all those working very hard to keep this club alive, but can no longer accept the constant cheap remarks aimed towards anyone on this forum who asks a question or has a remark that certain people do not like or feel questioned about there actions. We are all equal as supporters and people. I for one still have not seen a apology from the uneducated and idiotic remark from PEDANT regarding his comment about Tinytraveller and the calling of them as THICK and accusing them "The Reason This Club Is In The Mess It's In" just because they had a opinion or remark that he did not agree with. PEDANT its narrow minded people like you that makes things fail. I,like Tinytraveller have connections and a desire to help, but like them i dont feel the need to broadcast on here what i have or have not done. I wish everyone trying on here to save this club the very best of luck, but im sad and dismayed to say,i think its doomed to fail, the only way forward for football in Worcester is for the great old club to end and for everyone who is trying so hard to keep the club alive, to focus on the rebirth of a new club, with no debt,a chairman and board members who have the clubs best interests at heart and get back to and beyond its present posisition, and bring success and trophy's that the club as so sadly lacked for the past 35 years. I hope im wrong and all of you who will dislike and dismiss what i have said in this post to prove me wrong, but i think the club is on a life support machine and the switch is about to be turned off.

travellingsupporter as Rob says your passion is commendable and is just what this club needs. The trust are working hard to save this club and as member of the trust board myself I am sure I am the same but you can't blame us for trying. Due to work regrettably I am struggling to do my fair share but Rob is working his heart out to keep us alive and his words have not read the same on paper as they would hearing them. Llikewise Rich & Verner are working all hours as are all board members. We have an AGM shortly, join the board and give your advice face to face and I am sure we will listen and if you see how much work these guys are putting in you will have the confidence to offer a helping hand again. ps. I am shre Rich means he has never knowingly turned any help down

northinmysoul, tinytraveller, maybe1day,
I sincerely apologise for my outburst on this message board the other day. It was unwarranted and uncalled for.
I am feeling desperately frustrated at the situation the football club finds itself in and the general apathy of the people of Worcester towards the clubs demise. However it is clear that my directing my frustration at you guys was completely wrong. You are all obviously very passionate about WCFC and want the club to survive just as much as I do.
Please don't walk away because of a few idiots like me who type before they think. We have precious few people who care enough to try and help keep the club alive, without turning on each other and resorting to in-fighting.

You are no idiot Dave - a sh!t referee maybe - but you're someone who cares passionately about the club, as does everyone who posts on this board.
This is no time to take offence at perceived slights read on message boards. This is the time to stick together. Rob, Verner and the others are doing their damnedest to make sure your wonderful city has a football club in the future. Why walk away now? If Rich, Rob or whoever have offended then talk to them face to face. These are decent people - they will listen.
It's time to stick together - not walk away. "Brave men and difficulties were made for each other. A coward is a failure anywhere." You have brave men on your side. Support them.

Well said Pedant - lets get some perspective here, this banterboard is not the football club, and no good / bad / indifferent ideas on here will do anything to help the club. This is where we sound off a bit, or discuss the merits of giant radiators on Pitchcroft! All the work being done to save the club is being done behind the scenes, which is right and proper. Away from public glare - however, any supporter can get involved in the behind the scenes work to help. And I mean ANY supporter! I'm nobody special. just a supporter who decided to dig a little deeper into the running of the club because I was concerned. I'm just a very ordinary guy, with no special skills, who has gone on to meet with a lot of important people who can influence, or have influenced, the future of WCFC. So what really annoys me is that there are so many people with skills and with real energy for the club, who are not working with Rob Crean and the Supporters Trust. Again, Rob Crean is no-one special (and he won't mind me saying that) just an average guy who felt a need to get under the covers of the club. The Supporters Trust is not elitist, it is not a "them and us" unless us includes SMD and Hallmark / Boddy etc. Its about finding a way forward which includes a football club. The Perdiswell scheme wasnt thought up for the benefit of Rob Crean, and just flung into the public eye, it was a result of many years of consideration at long meetings of supporters, looking for a way forward. I was part of a group who were considering a proposal to incorporate Malvern Town FC, and move to Cinderella IF WCFC were folded. There have many other suggestions thrown around at various meetings that anyone and everyone can be involved in. Lets get this clear Rich Widdowson doesnt run Worcester City, he never has and he never will! He wouldnt want to even if he was allowed. I don't believe Rich would dismiss any ideas or help, he's always desperate for help, and he's running himself into the ground with all the things he is doing - he NEEDS help!! But if you feel that he didnt take on board what you have to say, and you firmly believe that you can execute your ideas - then the man to contact is Anthony Hampson - since coming into the club Anthony has asked for volunteer helpers, he is the Chairman, he is an easy going guy (with hair like that you HAVE to be easy going) So I encourage you to talk to him. Better still, search out Rob Crean, or other Supporters Trust members and talk to them. The Supporters Trust, with Supporters Direct support, is the only option left for the club now. So here's the deal, I don't care a crap whether supporters think I'm a loud mouth troublemaker, an arrogant know-all, or a suave sophisticated handsome demi-god - I just try and do my bit for what its worth, and I'm quite comfortable making other people uncomfortable if thats what it takes. So contact me by email jempitt@gmail.com with your offers of help, or any ideas that you think should be considered for the future of the club.

"I'm a loud mouth troublemaker, an arrogant know-all, or a suave sophisticated handsome demi-god" well two out of three isn't too bad.
The future of football in the city is a bigger issue than insults - real or perceived.

"A man must be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them".I'm glad you feel strong enough for you to apology PEDANT,and hope we no longer have personal insults but a unity for a common goal, yes Brooksider this is a site to air our views and thoughts, but lines must be drawn and not be crossed or we all have no right to point fingers at those who have brought the club to where it sadly is today for there incompetence, lack of Knowledge and business skills and to profit for there personal gain. You along with everyone else(Myself included) have expressed our thoughts and personal insults towards the "Accused",but the line surely must be drawn under the past and those people removed from our thoughts No good will come from it,despite making us feel a little better for a brief moment. You are 100% correct that we must all do what we can as individuals and a group to do what is best for this club. I have contacts who work for a major Norwegian Oil and Gas company with a Extremely influential member of the board involved in football, i have considered drafting a letter(And E-mail) to contact him personally and to see if i could stimulate any interest in the Club,a longshot and very unlikely i know, but he has been involved in a English club before, sadly not a successful adventure due to the circumstances of the club, but it is my opinion that WCFC needs major financial help to survive and grow and its common knowledge the person im talking about has a huge personal fortune,so the amount of investment would be small to him but huge for the club. My thought is it happened at WRFC so why not WCFC. As i have said, highly unlikely for anything to happened, but its a very small effort by me to do something to try and bring financial input into the club. I hope that no one believes this as a hoax or attention seeking on my behalf and if a member of the Supporters Trust Board would feel it would be worth taking further im happy to go ahead and contact the person mentioned. I would not like to pursue this myself and possible bring ridicule or embarrassment to the club with its present situation so delicate and unstable. If this is a consideration please contact me with a PM,thanks.

PM sent
