Well done lads.
I laughed when I heard Redditch (spit) had signed Jake Meredith, now I am eternally grateful as he provides me with so much amusement. Playing for anyone else just wouldnt give me such a giggle!
Did he actually make any saves?

Redditch amazingly have let in 16 goals now in 3 Games , I think were 6/7th position now . With A home night game coming up . only 3 Games in and i feel very optamistic about this season. Danks has got 3 goals , glover has 2 , clyde has 2 , not bad for only three Games even though the worry for me is the last two Games in the second half we seem to be on a backfoot

All important first home win on Monday would be good, after the back-to-back away wins.
Looking good, but having a good home record is going to be key for the season.

Did we even manage to win back to back away games last season?

Back-to-back away wins are quite rare, as it is not often that we play two away league games one after another - the fixtures tend to alternate home and away, of course, and later on cup games intervene. The latest equivalent to Eastwood/VM was wins at Worksop and Gainsborough in August, 2006.
In fact, our away form around that time was superb, as shortly before, we had back-to-back away wins at Worksop and Barrow (stretching over the close season), and at Stalybridge, Leigh RMI in April.
We started the 2006/2007 season with four straight away wins, form that was certainly not matched by form at the Lane, where we picked up only 2 points from the first 5 games - only breaking that run by coming from 2-0 behind to Blyth Spartans to win 3-2.
The last time we won consecutive away games in the league was at Team Bath and Fisher in Jan/Feb 2009 (with a home win and home defeat in between).
Dont worry - I'll answer questions when we lose, as well.

It was a very poor away following considering the Tuesday win. The game sort of mirrored the Eastwood game where I thought we would build on the first half lead and go for a big score but in the end we hung on for three more points.......just like Tuesday . Considering the Gainsborough game you could quite easily argue that these things even themselves up over the course of the season. So 2-1 to City so far

worcesters report in the mercury MARK Danks scored twice as Worcester City won 3-2 at Vauxhall Motors. Worcester fell behind after just eight minutes. Obi Anorou ’s shot was blocked by Tim Sandercombe but the ball ran loose to Josh Wilson on the edge of the area and he side- footed into the unguarded net. However, the lead lasted barely 10 minutes as Neil Cartwright ’s pass set Danks clear of the offside trap and he beat keeper Scott Tynan at the second attempt. Danks increased the lead on 28 minutes. Keeper Scott Tynan blundered while trying to tackle Danny Glover and the former Port Vale striker played in Danks who kept his nerve to slide the ball into the bottom corner. Two became three seven minutes later when Glover lofted the ball over the advancing Tynan after the Vauxhall defence failed to deal with a long ball. Sandercombe kept the two-goal lead intact with a fine reflex save from Chris Noone but he was judged to have brought down Obi Anorou in the 65th-minute and Brian Moogan scored from the spot. The hosts pressed for an equaliser but Worcester held on.

Yeah. heres a line from todays sunday mercury,, Meredith could only parry a weak shot from Canoville on 56 minutes and it went straight to substitute Spencer Weir-Dale who made it seven.

2 goals against in each game so far. If this carries on City will have 84 goals agaiinst at the end of the season.
This does suggest that there is a problem in the defence. Hope Carl can sort it out.

The defence sounds strong with ward elvins clyde and shaba though. i think monday will be a great game to get a cleansheet seeing hinkley scored 5 yesterday Individually the defence looked good at Vauxhall. It is very difficult to put your finger on why they are just not clicking as a unit Mark Clyde appeared to flag a bit int he 2nd half but that is probably because his ribs were very sore and he is lacking a bit of fitness and maybe the knee stiffens up. Shab is outstanding at the moment and he and Matt Birley are combining well down the left, switching roles regulalry and this has allowed Shab to overlap and look threatening. It is a but like Barton of old, maybe Everton can put in a big bid for Shab and buys us a new ground lol Elvins I think is still finding his way next to Clyde. Looking to make sure he is setup right and in the right place at the right time, wanting to get further forward but not too sure if he should. He still has a midfielder's mentality rather than central defender maybe? If the defence start to work as a unit and the midfield and forward line continue then it can only get better. We are now winning games when possibly only playing at what I estimate as being 75% of our potential. All of this without Graham Ward for 75 minutes too, after going off with concussion and sickness after taking an elbow off the ball just after Vauxhall scored. He said after the game he hopes he should be fit Monday. All in all it wasn't a bad performance yesterday, first half we scored three without real domination, outstanding finish for Danny Glover's goal, he looks a real quality player and I go along with what was said by Carl about his level of defending from the front. Tireless! Can I add one more observation? You read, hear and have seen, when they have played in opposition to us, what quality players Kev O'Connor and Tom Thorley are; possibly two of the best players in the league - But it is a real credit to the playing squad strength at WCFC this season when I say that altho' Kev and Tom look very good players they are not another level above the rest of the squad as you might expect them to be. They are on a par with what is turning into a decent squad for this level of football. What a signing Neil Cartwright is looking to be too. He goes about his work quietly but his crossing and work rate are excellent. I am genuinely excited about this team for the 1st time in a long time and JCP, I hope 9 games of this may prove your point I hope It can only get better.

Shaba is still pretty young. meaning he will get better which is great news. also he seems very loyal to worcester. i got told at the start of the season he rejected kiddy and i had a interesting chat with a person at the club about shaba and they said he could easily play in league1/2 , i think that to, im hoping he stays for a very long time.

I wholeheartedly agree with virtually all you have said in that post. Would only add that re-signing Danksy was an inspired move by The King - every time we move forward we now look like we could score - it makes a huge difference to the spectating!

And I would have to agree with you too, Danks movement and work rate was excellent too. He has got sharper with each game, I was thinking he had lost it Vs Gainsborough with the chances he missed and Carl could easily have put McGregor up front Vs Eastwood. But Danks ran them ragged but he must watch his mouth. I thought he might get a red card at Vauxhall after the abuse he gave that useless ref when given the yellow, altho' he was correct in that the defender made the most of it and went down looking like he been hit by a land rover and ran away 2 seconds later like a ballet dancer!
Who thinks McGregor will soon get fed up of being on the bench and will look elsewhere? That could be the same for a few others too. How often in the past have City named the same 16 players 3 games in a row (possibly 4 if I hear correct and it's the same side again tonight) ??

Mg's chance will come. but with the form of our strikers . he knows he will need to do a lot to start. but maybe he should of come on as a sub against eastwood with glover so they could held the ball up more

I echo the sentiments of "Tony's More Hopeful Now" in that, whilst this was a great win (we've never previously done any good at Vauxhall), if we concede two goals per game, that is 84 in a full season. You don't win anything conceding that number of goals! I am sure Carl will be addressing the problem.

"..if we concede two goals per game, that is 84 in a full season.." Possibly, but as we are scoring 2.66 per match we could end up with For: 117 Agst: 84. That should bring the crowds back!
