I so hope that certain individuals who pontificate on this message board never get anywhere near a WCFC or AFCWC board room. I really have no interest in hearing about the work patterns of people who are under the illusion that others are interested in what they do - or feel that they have to justify their existence!

I doubt they'd have the time How on earth did niels ever have the time to procreate?? It couldn't have lasted very long (do you think he timed it?) I reckon there's acomdey sketch in the making here, maybe cg saying how hard he works, then niels saying "you were lucky, I had to work........." then cg coming back with "I'd give my right arm to only do a 43 hour day" Any mileage in it???

I totally agree but when someone makes a statement like Work-wise I routinely did 17-plus hours days, 21 on one particularly manic day. Could you handle that? I very much doubt it. then there is a need to answer. Although I'm sure that the pressure and intensity of letting the world know who came fourth in the hop, skip and jump must be unbearable.

You've picked two days several months apart Neils Try actually reading what I wrote. The first one is three days in succession. If I had the time, or the inclination, then I could come up with many more. As could many others I'm sure. You are trying to make it sound like you did something remarkable but in reality it is fairly normal for a great number of people. Just ask Dave Boddy!

Well there you go - shows what a great understanding you have of the work we were doing - and the speed and accuracy - its not peace keeping in Afghanistan but 17 hours in that environment is intense work actually - but there you go shooting from the lip with no knowledge of the business whatsoever. Have I questioned the merits of your work? No - it is just pathetic personal drivel all the time. You sad sad man. I'm off on holiday!!!!

Sorry gents but there are very important issues facing the club and your tit-for-tat arguing about your work patterns is not one of them.

Surely if the Board was really interested in a member of the Trust sitting on the WCFC Board of directors they would have written to the Trust formally making the proposal.

but there you go shooting from the lip with no knowledge of the business whatsoever. And there you go again making assumptions that you have no idea about. I have actually worked in that business, my wife has worked in that business and my brother works in that business. But hey, fantasy land is your abode.

Dave rather than spreading the rumours as you are doing by posting them on this board, it would have been better for you to have written to or contacted the Chair or Secretary of the Trust on this matter.

Actually it was, my company e-Spirit UK Ltd - www.e-spirit.co.uk provided the website for one of the major manufacturers of swimwear, and at the Olympics there were as many as 100,000 content edits per day required on their multi-national, multi language websites, which impacted directly on their e-commerce platform, and indirectly on their erp platform. All because some wombat out in Katmandu wanted to know the results of the synchronised swimming. Why you even get some people wanting to know the scores at non-league tinpot football matches!! I ask you!!!

I have heard a rumour about the Supporter's Trust that worries me as a member. I have been told that the Trust had been offered an invite to attend Board meetings (not sure if it was a seat on the Board that was offered or just a "spectator" role), but the Trust Board had turned down this offer? If this is true, I personally think that as representation on the Board of Directors of the football club was one of things the Trust were striving for, this is a bit of an own goal, and I am also concerned that Members of the Trust would not have not been informed of this offer nor given an opportunity to give their thoughts and opinions by voting on the proposal. I am sure that this rumour must be untrue and just an attempt to undermine the Trust, so I am sure one of the Committee will clarify the position quickly. I know that the current board (DB,TP,LB,JP) offered a WCFC Supporters Trust member a seat at a board meeting. The current elected members of WCFCST, (Gavin Fry, Dave Wood & Rich Widdowson) and the Co-Opted members (Sue Bentley, Rob Crean & Jane Clarke) had a vote to decide if the Trust should accept or decline the offer. The result of the vote was a 3-3 split and Colin Layland (Chair person) of WCFCST had the casting vote, which he used to reject the offer.

I was one of the people invited to and attended the above meeting.
At the meeting various people (all regular user's of this message board) had a whole list of "perceived" problems facing WCFC. In no particular order:-
The debt was much bigger than anyone thought. A planning application for SGL was named as Bellway Housing and not Careys. The planning application would probably be rejected because of the design of the housing. There was not enough money to build a new ground at Nunnery Way (the ground would probably be 3 sides !!!) The Social club was budgeted to make "no profit" though people had offered help to address this. RD had various concerns. Directors were considering their options/future with WCFC Catering made little or no profit. BL (who I had never heard of) was pulling the strings. There were no up to date accounts.
All of the above I heard over "tea and cakes" in a 2 hour period at County Hall's countryside centre in March 2008 and didn't/couldn't understand most of it. People who attended had emails, letters or what seemed like reliable information to back-up the above. Today 6 months later most of it has been confirmed.
It was due to these "perceived" problems that I joined the steering group for WCFCST.

Those kind of hours are unremarkable when you work for yourself or a small business. ;D Do you both work in "third world sweatshops"? I hope you both get "regular breaks" and are at least getting "minimum wage"!!!! Have you never heard of "the Health & Safety at work act" Employees have rights too!!! I have never worked 17 or 21 hour days and at your ages you shouldn't be either. ;D ;D

Tried that approach Tony, but Colin is not willing to answer the questions I have asked until the next Trust meeting. I look forward to finding out when the next meeting of ALL Trust Members will take place so I can ask the questions again and hopefully get an answer.

Too right guys. Perhaps if you worked a bit smarter, you would have more time available to make 1600+ posts on this forum (some of them pretty lengthy) in the space of just over 12 months. Now that is smart working! Exactly - I mean it takes less than 30 seconds to make most posts, and averaging 7 a day, thats around 10 minutes work - dead easy. Its even easier when you're an insomniac, who also works US time And its even easier when you delegate to others So Jem are you saying you don't spend any time thinking about what you are going to post and no time reading what others have posted? 10 minutes a day indeed! Don't get me wrong I am not knocking you for having the type of job that gives you enough spare time to read and contribute to the messageboard as much as you do, just wish I was in the same position! If I was mind, I would hope I could find better things to do.

Gentlemen, neither I nor any of my colleagues have brought the latest request for an EGM into the public domain. I can confirm however, that Colin Layland was proposed by the Shareholders Action Group to be a Director of the Board of WCFC. The request I believe was handed into the club offices by Richard Widdowson. Both these gentlemen are members of the Committee of the trust. These actions call into question the stated intent of Trust Members to distance themselves from the Shareholders Action Group. We have been invited to talk to the trust at any time, this is difficult for us as we are never sure who we are talking to.

As I posted in the EGM thread, either highest quality "s*** Stirring" OR "disapointing news" Hope for the first option but fear the 2nd option. 2 of the 4 elected members of the Trust directly linked to the SHAG. Not the Independant Supporters Trust I and numerous others spent many hours over the Summer helping toresurrect. If it's true (which I probably believe) then very very sad.

Suv, Preston. I will speak to you at saturdays game. If I fail to persuade you two that the Trust is independent then i may as well give it all up. If you believe camper and dave then dave is right, I must be a liar. Thanks.

Suv, do you really think your negative postings on here are helping the situation? You are correct you did a hell of a lot of work getting the trust relaunched but you were not alone in that process, please give the other numerous helpers including the elected board the respect their efforts deserve and talk to the trust board about any issues you may have after all the trust is the only viable solution to the current board. You had the choice of standing for the trust board but like me you decided not to, we have to support the trust board and help out if we can not snipe based on rumours, talk to them! All this squabbling is only playing into the hands of those who are bringing harm to the club.

It sounds to me as if the approach was unofficial. The Club should write officially to the Trust explaining the position which they wish the them to take up and all the responsibilities. They haven't done so!
We, as members of the Trust elected an executive board to look after our business and we as members should trust them to do what they think is correct.
And in this case I think that their line was correct. I thoink the approach was typical of this half soaped WCFC board. If they are serious why not write officially to the Trust?
This can all be changed if members wish at the AGM.

Surely all this "he said that to him behind his back" is getting tiresome for most people. What has gone on, however right/wrong/insert your own word, cannot be changed. If only every day were like yesterday, and we could turn the clocks back.............
Clean sheet of paper, lets go. There is such an opportunity here if the petty infighting can be put to one side

I know enough of what is going on outside of wcfc to feel assured that every effort is being made to bring a swift conclusion the wcfc's current plight and also that the trust has a massive task on its hands trying to establish community links and to unearth the truth about the dealings at WCFC. If the Trust, SAG or the salvation army want to try and help sort the mess out then they have my backing. Please do not drive a wedge between any interested parties the wcfc board are trying hard to do this themselves

Spot on Wayne.
Paralysis induced by paranoia will prevent a united front. We are bigger that this. The Club and it's future are bigger than all of us.
We dont need the doublethink of the present regime.
We have, unless I am sorely mistaken , a single purpose which is to watch people in blue and white shirts (representing us - the owners and stakeholders of the club) kick a bladder around on a bit of mud trying to get it between some bits of stick.
I would be happy to do that simple thing for the rest of my life in the knowledge that those who come after will derive the same pleasure from it as I have. I dont care if we are in the Premier league or the Dunkin Donuts reserve division 8 as long as I can support my team.
