I heard Mark Yates on Saturday saying the South is the stronger league of the two, so it would be interesting to find out which the fans preferred.
I am just adding a survey to the offish site.

For the lesser mortals of us. Who is Kempster? And does it mean anything?

He is a statistics merchant. www.tonykempster.co.ukIt means that we're definitely going South! He has had us going South for the last 4 years and we've gone North. It's only logical that he is wrong again.

Weymouth won last night to pull out of the bottom four again. Current bottom four is, from memory, Halifax, Northwich, Droylsden and Stafford, the latter two already being relegated.

If Kempster is correct in his forecast. We will only have one Local Derby. Redditch. Unless of course you take Newport and Bath.

Could there just be unequal numbers in the N /S divisions?

From a Basingstoke fan on the conference South message board:
Halesowen would certainly complicate things regarding the north/south divide. Would think all the clubs in the Birmingham area would rather stay in the same league due to derbies etc? Believe the AGM on the 7th June will sort it all out, have heard that Worcester and Redditch have applied to move south. I remember when it was the opposite effect a couple of years back, for a while Kempster had Cambridge up north!

According to a press story over the weekend, the meeting of the management committee of the BSL is to be held in mid May. When all clubs possibly involved in the transfer will be able to state their case for not changing.

Kempster still has City and Redditch in BS South following the play offs. Interesting though that in the NLP this morning, Keith Webb, manager of King's Lynn, is very keen that the Linnets play in BS South; if that happened then presumably Redditch would stay North?

I'll just wait and see what the "powers" decise. Personally, I'd rather go south looking at the standard of the north !

"better the devil you know" "the grass is always greener"
Whatever league we are in, all we have to do is win it to get promotion. The main issues are off the pitch.
Interestingly though, it looks like teams promoted from BSS seem to fare better in the Conference than teams promoted from BSN, which suggests they have either more, or better, resources.

Wasn't that what Kettering found Brooksider, in their season in the south.
The teams were stronger than they thought.
The soon elected to go into the north.

If that's whay happens, I can't see us doing anything better than this year ... 4 teams from the national, plus Telford, plus Southport ....

Surely Boston can't go south Look at the table on the right...............! There is a lot of merit in the idea of them being placed in Conference South but how many Conference North grounds would they pass near to on their way to Newport County?

What justification is there in going north? Trips to Blyth and Workington are around twice as far as those to Eastleigh or Havant.

it's looking likely that Halifax will be relegated to the Unibond as they are about to go into receivership again. This will reprieve Altrincham from the drop and may well mean that City remain in Conference North.
